Cicadas, Mikan-chan’s only target, are rapidly increasing in number as sultry summer rages. Her favorite food, loved toy never stop Mikan-chan jumping onto a net window, where a cicada boy is buzzing. She always fails, left alone at a high place; while succeeds in hunting Mei-Shun.

StandardTora-chan has a boyfriend. He is a stray cat who visits our garden at night – Mei-Shun often see them on a hush-hush date when she returns from summer lessons. Their last litter was named in musical instruments during their short stay with mom.

StandardMikan-chan had a health check. Dr. O, her veterinarian, introduced us a gentle couple who adopted Tora-chan’s 4 kittens.
Sarashi Lesson
StandardHow to dance “Echigo-Shishi” lesson finished. It has a scene to swing sarashi. It is so eye-catching that ardent practice is necessary. However, swinging sarashi would lure Mikan-chan too much at home. Therefore, Mei-Shun decided to rent a Japanese-style room in nearby community center.
Poor Kitten
StandardA skinny kitten stays around the garage of Master Mei-Shu for 2 weeks. 2 kittens crouched in the porch at the time of previous lesson, yet only one was there last Friday. She never moves when Mei-Shun comes nearby, maybe with no power to run. We know who the culprit is – those who never take care of litters, nor stop breeding of their pets, be punished.
Too Cold, Hiss!
StandardTorrid summer hurts us. Mikan-chan does not like cooled rooms, runs away soon after the air-conditioner starts working. She might feel artificial air “cold”. They say her ancestors are Libyan wild cats – living in the hot desert, they cannot stay in a cold place?
No Welcome
StandardA little bat(!) was found flying around our living room at midnight. When and how did it come in? Mei-Shun tried hard to catch & release it. Mikan-chan was so frightened that she stayed under the table during her mom’s hunting. Could you please stay outdoors, wild lives?
Stormy Festival

Cat in Rainy Season
StandardOur garden cat Tora-chan dislikes rain. In this season, she always waits for us at the door, asking to let her in. We really would like to do so, yet our home cat Mikan-chan, a Russian blue girl, should not be exposed to such a pressure. Sorry, Tora-chan.
