This is minazuki, a Japanese sweet to eat today for Nagoshi-no-Harae. A half piece would be dedicated to your past half-year life, while another half to wish your happiness in left half of current year.
Month: June 2015
… with a mushroom. Maybe because of rainy weather, our pot plants sometimes accompany this light-yellow one in the morning. Never looks tasty, removed immediately.
Dear Kiwi LoversStandard
Please be careful. Mei-Shun suddenly suffered an allergy with it. After eating one, she felt a bit itchy around the mouth, looked in the mirror. Three red rashes were found! It is so shocking for her, a fruit lover. A steroidal medicine worked well, yet she has to refrain from that lovely, tasty darling for a while.
You can find snowmen, cats, sea shells, etc. among these accessories hand-made by Professor S. Not only an excellent designer, she is also a fine judge for cute jewelries. Mei-Shun once accompanied to her favorite shop in Okachimachi, Tokyo. So many kind of beads are hung on the wall that it looks like a museum.
Seeing mild sunshine in the morning, Mei-Shun was happy to hang futon bed mats and blankets. And in the afternoon, it suddenly started. Cold wind blew into our area. Raindrops followed to change into a storm immediately. This is what we call “guerrilla rainfall”, maybe because nobody can expect place and time of their attack.
Once in Three YearsStandard
Mei-Shun went to Tokyo for a lecture and test to keep a certificate necessary in her job. And today has the summer solstice, yet dark clouds prevented us from seeing the latest sunset of this year. As always, we have to say — it comes in the middle of rainy season. A little bit lonely.
Hard to FollowStandard
Mei-Shun started to practice “Salut d’Amour” by E. Elgar at Shin’s request. We found this title on the net by chance, as “Gymnopédie“. It sounds sweet and clear, so a simple score has been expected. However, it carries four sharps! Mei-Shun has no perfect pitch. It would take a time to play smoothly …
Professor S. is so good at making accessories. She kindly asks Mei-Shun’s request for colors and designs, yet she knows her favorite well. Pink, from salmon- to rosy, is one of them. Please find below and enjoy. White, green and blue ones follow next time.
Daggertooth pike conger, Muraenesox cinereus, is popular in western Japan. Boiled and cooled in iced water, they are served with pickled ume plum paste. The white meat looks refreshing, tastes nicely light. They give good energy to keep yourself healthy during humid, hot summer.
