Meow, today is Showa Day, representing the era dad, mom and their parents were born in. So was Kaori-san who drew above image, featuring mom and me (can you kind followers find us?). I was born in Heisei from 1988 to 2019, perhaps the second youngest in my family. Tora-chan seems to be 5 or 6 years old, the youngest. I’m happy to see everyone healthy, together at home. Purr … purrr …

My Melody

Standard

She is a character of bunny girl, while Ms. Melody a real horsey one. The latter was kind enough to trot slowly for Mei-Shun, who was forced to employ old gears belong to the club today. They are quite old, used so long a time that weariness is serious: knee pads have become thinner pressed, stirrups are narrow. After a thrilling lesson, she recognized again that Mr. Sirius helps her a lot.

Bright Blossom

Standard

Here is a mug Mei-Shun met and fell in love with at her favorite tea shop nearby. It is just when 花水木=hana-mizuki flourish, relaxing our eyes by mild salmon pink and white. There are many of them along streets in Tsukuba, while 山法師=yama-hoshi in Tsuchiura. These two seem to be similar breed: the latter is included in the group of the former, yet white flowers only.

Wild Wisteria

Standard

Shin and Mei-Shun are lucky enough to be able to see seasonal flowers at home through windows. Plum, cherry and wisteria are not planted in their garden while available in “backyard” for the 1st, at a nearby bus stop for the 2nd and similar to that chimerical ume for the 3rd. The wife recently found it tangled on the top of a tree, perhaps too high to remove from.

Tiny Train

Standard

Shin and Mei-Shun went to Tokyo by Ms. Scarlet to meet Kaori-san, whose exhibition had been held in Tokyo till weekend. This time she drew for a cat fancier/story writer who serves a gallery on the ground floor of her own house. Well, it is often difficult to find the best car park around such an old residential area — oh, here is one just next to a railroad crossing.

Good Girl

Standard

Meow, we are on the 4th, 2022 of my days come once a month. Mom plans to visit a gallery in Tokyo where an exhibition is held featuring our species by her friend Kaori-san tomorrow, meeting dad on the way. Please go ahead, there would be no problem. It is getting warmer to take better care of me. You stay with me all day today, letting both of us feel bliss. Purr … purrr …

Snowy & Shiny

Standard

Princess Maria, great to see and dance with you again. It took as long as 3 weeks for Mei-Shun to recover from her horribly red right eye. Pink cherry blossoms around the field have all gone, left just one tree of wilder breed full of white flowers. It assembles you, honey, whose scar above left eyelid has been cured to be covered up brilliantly by your summer coat.

Glorious Greeting

Standard

We have 穀雨=koku-u, the 6th and last of spring 二十四節気 today. Some of rice paddies around here in Ibaraki are already watered, perhaps waiting for neat lines of young green soon. Mei-Shun would like to walk along such a sight toward the nearest shrine, yet it seems a bit too cold to enjoy it. So Mademoiselle Vert, could you show your youngest sister instead?

Mom’s Memory

Standard

Rainy days give Mei-Shun good chances to make a long phone call with mother. Her younger daughter serves photos of Momo-chan every year, that makes her delighted to see such beauty getting more and more splendid. This princess is the 4th generation, descended from her grandmother. “She kindly peeled its fruits for me,” always the same comment which has never come true here.

Nice Numbers: 2

Standard

Thanks a million from Mei-Shun to you kind 464 followers. She found it on weekend, felt like you are saying yo-ro-shi-ku or “take care of us hereafter”. Although lacking 9 at last to read “ku” in our language, she would expect the next with 10 new guests rather than 10 times. Now we seem to enter a bit delayed rainy weeks in spring called 菜種梅雨=natane-tsuyu.
