… yet less material would be better. Mei-Shun visited Master Bando as usual today, chatted a little before lesson. When Ms. S joined them, above lady told her new students about 御中元 and 御歳暮 meaning summer and year-end gifts. “Thanks a lot for your care of me,” she started. “However, to be honest, I cannot consume all sweets and bathroom items living alone. Could you please forget it hereafter?”

Peaceful Paws

Purr, it makes me really relaxed to sleep on mom’s legs. Mom says that she feels the same to take a nap holding me here, instead of going to the bedroom alone. We used to share futon mats there, yet I stopped it for a few years since my nails easily catch towel coverings. Her choice of cushions, blankets and fluffy friends on the sofa would serve not only for my best place but also her longevity.

Here is a new lamp came to Mei-Shun, actually in summer. Her elder uncle on beloved father’s side passed away in May, yet she could not see him in Kyushu. Mother gave funeral offering on behalf of her daughters, let the widow aunt send brochures of thank-you gifts. There-there, teardrops, please stop falling. Let’s ask this lovely black kitten if she entered Moomin’s House.

Fresh Form?

Standard

Mei-Shun is a fruits lover. She normally prefers them in 旬=shun, meaning season best; strawberry in spring, cherry in early summer followed by peach and melon, grape and pear in autumn, table orange and apple in winter. However, Christmas calls for the first one in our country. It is a bit too hard and sour to enjoy in the raw, often served dried, preserved and mixed in cream.

Meow, mom got up and took care of me in this early morning, said good-day to dad downstairs and went to bedroom after breakfast. What’s going on? She usually stays in the living room with me sleeping on the sofa. My activity for water, restroom and patrol thus started sooner. Hi, how are you covered within futon blanket? You are allowed to take a rest of course, please just keep me fed on time.

It never matters for Master Bando if a Tuesday is 勤労感謝の日, Labor Thanksgiving Day: there are always lessons. Mei-Shun visited her in a T-shirt and jeans today, put on 羽織 kimono jacket on them to dance 松の緑 and 松の寿. Shin continued to work from last night to this morning, could not have let his wife know when he would get on a train. Oh, his message arrived at noon on her phone.

It is called いい夫婦の日=Day of Good Couple today, reading 1-1-2-2 in our language. We also have 小雪=sho-setsu, 2nd of winter 二十四節気 meaning it still snows a little, while rains much by chance. Mei-Shun feels like sipping warmed sake at such a night, yet 奈良萬=nara-man from Fukushima tastes better after cooled in a freezer. She therefore would cook hot, boiling dishes for dinner.

Celestial Celebrity

Standard

Mei-Shun feels really glad to see a partial lunar eclipse tonight with Shin, who worked at home by chance. Oh, what a sunset in reddish pink! It is incredible — now Ms. Full Moon is on the opposite stage of sky. Already hidden behind our Mother Earth, she looks like a tall crescent. Flowing, light clouds sometimes cover to change her shape from a ripe banana to an orange ball.

Bon Bonito?

Meow, it seems to be for Tora-chan, my colleague living downstairs. Dad kindly ordered an assorted package of jelly sticks including sardine, salmon and above flavors when I ate up pH-controlled tuna. Mom has given me 2 of the last per day, aside from energy sticks in tuna and chicken tender respectively. They wished me to find another favorite, yet I’m happy enough just with your love to me.

Mei-Shun finally brought this lovely girl, holding a table of new-year delicacy, toward a framing shop. A tiny piece of acrylic plate not only protects her from UV, but also gives more space above. A red, lacquered bowl is one of main motifs appear in works by Kaori-san. Her friend from high-school days fell in love with it at first sight in Kyoto, while at second with a little book full of grapes.
