We have 小寒=sho-kan, the 5th of winter 二十四節気 today. They say the coldest months 寒=kan would start, while I enjoy warm hands and legs of mom on the sofa as usual. Why are you in a kind of fidget? Oh, it is birthday of her mom-in-law as well, surprising flowers are waited to arrive. How about a cake? Not reserved this year, because dad is on a diet.

Purr, it is warm indoors. Mom is also happy seeing Princess Cymby and Mademoiselle Vert; the former has two flower buds growing little by little, while the latter one. She cleaned 2 vases today as well, one of them a gift from dad. Time flies, fragrant lilies have gone. Carnations joined roses in a hanger. Backyard gingko tree took off a golden coat, left her some to pick up again.

Mom stays home all day today, purr. She takes care of dad first, then me next. Well, it is all right. I know she really wants to let me have priority over him, yet suppresses such emotion to keep her big boy happy. Now he’s gone, my turn’s come to relax on her legs … meow? Where is she? Meow, mom looks delighted after checking numbers on a scale. She makes it a rule to weigh herself with an empty stomach and good perspiration from horsey riding. Meow, dad declared to resume weight control. He went on a business trip to Toyama the other day, brought home one of mom’s favorite sweets called 銀杏餅. Written in Chinese letters, they have taken it as icho-mochi so far. However, this wrapping paper taught them that it is ginnan-mochi. Either will be all right, just enjoy giving all left to mom.

Meow, mom told me Mr. Ichiro, a steller sea lion kept at Aquamarine Fukushima looks like me when sleepy. Do you kind followers agree with her? More rare species is Mr. Kura-maru, only one ribbon seal in the world who stays in such an artificial environment. A fluffy image of him joined me and Mr. Junto on the sofa. I’m generous enough to allow boys taking a nap with me, purr.

And dance, mom, only 3 weeks are left until you perform 恋の手習い on the stage. You went out for a lesson at Master Bando’s place in the morning, came back early in the afternoon. Futon mats are sunbathing in southern verandah where Princess Cymby, her younger sister and Mademoiselle Vert stayed from spring. They came indoors yesterday, expecting flowers in 2 pots in coming next year.

Meow, I heard that tomorrow is the day of “trick or treat?”. Mom is not so much interested in it, while loves to give treats to young friends. They say a full moon will celebrate it as well, yet pretty quietly this year. She took several photos of it recently, including one on 20th from a train. I think her technique is poor, only when compared to my images of course, purr.
