Meow, we heard it is very rare to have 節分=setsu-bun; just one day before 立春=risshun, the 1st of spring 二十四節気, not tomorrow but today. It is for the first in recent 124 years — at the end of Meiji Era, when mom’s great-grandparents were young. And it sounds like my day along with 3, 22 and 23 while with dogs 12 and 13. Not 4 and 24 when I say hiss!

You seem like, Princess Cymby. Taking nearly a whole month, younger bud finally started to bloom. It is really amazing to see her loosen fists one after another in greenish shade. By the way, following image is ready for 蝋梅 or wintersweet flowers, isn’t it? Coming from mom’s garden, it was expected by Mei-Shun to show fragrant dresses around new year.
Princess Cymby has recently found Mei-Shun recognized a little boy trying to reach elder sisters. Since younger one took as long as almost a month to bloom soon, it allowed her to draw a sigh of relief. Good for Your Highness, they could wait you to grow enough. Wondering why she stays home today? It is too windy to drive toward home of Master Bando.
So 2020 has only 2 nights left, including a full moon tonight. It rained from early in the morning, made mom worry that she could not see it. To her great relief, drops and clouds have gone to supply slight sunlight around noon. Meow, there in the stairwell, I see a kitten staring at a bird above. Would you like my help? Purr, it is warm indoors. Mom is also happy seeing Princess Cymby and Mademoiselle Vert; the former has two flower buds growing little by little, while the latter one. She cleaned 2 vases today as well, one of them a gift from dad. Time flies, fragrant lilies have gone. Carnations joined roses in a hanger. Backyard gingko tree took off a golden coat, left her some to pick up again.

Mom stays home all day today, purr. She takes care of dad first, then me next. Well, it is all right. I know she really wants to let me have priority over him, yet suppresses such emotion to keep her big boy happy. Now he’s gone, my turn’s come to relax on her legs … meow? Where is she? Ah, in eastern verandah to pick up yellow leaves. Some were thrown onto the ground, others collected into a molehill.

Meow, mom looks delighted after checking numbers on a scale. She makes it a rule to weigh herself with an empty stomach and good perspiration from horsey riding. Are you kind followers interested in mine? It is not weight but a place to take a nap which I care. Mom has to hold me on her legs first, then I squeeze onto warmed-up sofa. Oh, Mr. Kura-maru, please do not occupy my bed.

Mademoiselle Vert and Princess Cymby both have flower buds now, makes Mei-Shun feel really pleased who missed the latter last year. Drinking a lot of water, they seem to compete with each other. So time goes ahead toward winter as the big gingko tree in the garden of 日先神社 took off a beautiful golden coat, put it on the ground to make a gorgeous carpet.
Meow, dad declared to resume weight control. He went on a business trip to Toyama the other day, brought home one of mom’s favorite sweets called 銀杏餅. Written in Chinese letters, they have taken it as icho-mochi so far. However, this wrapping paper taught them that it is ginnan-mochi. Either will be all right, just enjoy giving all left to mom.
