Shin and Mei-Shun quite liked another float 黒主山=kuronushi-yama. This chic, black stage features one of 六歌仙=roku-kasen, 6 great waka poets 大伴黒主 who looks up a cherry tree in full blossom. Both of 山 like above and 鉾; including their favorite 大船鉾, elder 船鉾, famous leader 長刀鉾=naginata-hoko and 月鉾=tsuki-hoko show all different façades between day and night.

Joy of Gion: 1
StandardThanks a lot, Mikan-chan. She gave you kind followers one of the reasons Mei-Shun went outdoors into severe sunlight last Wednesday. Here the latter rider show you another: she visited Kyoto with Shin to see 宵々山=yoi-yoi-yama, 後祭=ato-matsuri of Gion Festival from Friday. Oh, beautiful 大船鉾=o-fune-hoko, great to meet you for the first time in recent 8 years after you came back.
Ripe Rubies
StandardElder sister Y kindly sent Mei-Shun one of her favorite fruits; cherry, this year again. Her husband worked with its growers in Yamagata decades before, keeps in touch with them. By the way, does above precious stone have other colors? … ah-ha, they are sapphires including pink one, green, blue of course, etc. It sounds much better than calling them red/blue corundum respectively.
Cute Coincidence
StandardMeow, mom and I ordered a flower arrangement for dad. And it was he who received it on delivery yesterday morning. Please kindly accept our gratitude, purr. We are satisfied that the shop well understood idea of us; pink roses, lovely atmosphere, round shape, etc. It might have come from a brochure featuring another shop in Tokyo, which dad always uses for mom.

Black Beauty
StandardWow, it looks like another Mei-Shun is standing in a box. She feels really happy receiving made-to-measure boots at her horsey riding club today. This pair is gift from generous Shin when her mother celebrated his promotion months before. “Since it is thanks to your support,” he said who enormously satisfied his mother-in-law by such a warm comment.
Sweet Sonny
StandardThank you so much, Shin. He brought home above yesterday for Mei-Shun, happy mom of Mikan-chan celebrating Mother’s Day. His real mother received the same gift from him of course, while a pot of red carnations from her daughter-in-law and a lovely pink bouquet from her genuine daughter. She looked satisfied whose smile makes all family members blissful.
Japanese Culture@holiday
StandardMeow, today is Showa Day, representing the era dad, mom and their parents were born in. So was Kaori-san who drew above image, featuring mom and me (can you kind followers find us?). I was born in Heisei from 1988 to 2019, perhaps the second youngest in my family. Tora-chan seems to be 5 or 6 years old, the youngest. I’m happy to see everyone healthy, together at home. Purr … purrr …

Bright Blossom
StandardHere is a mug Mei-Shun met and fell in love with at her favorite tea shop nearby. It is just when 花水木=hana-mizuki flourish, relaxing our eyes by mild salmon pink and white. There are many of them along streets in Tsukuba, while 山法師=yama-hoshi in Tsuchiura. These two seem to be similar breed: the latter is included in the group of the former, yet white flowers only.
Mom’s Memory
StandardRainy days give Mei-Shun good chances to make a long phone call with mother. Her younger daughter serves photos of Momo-chan every year, that makes her delighted to see such beauty getting more and more splendid. This princess is the 4th generation, descended from her grandmother. “She kindly peeled its fruits for me,” always the same comment which has never come true here.
Morning Mountain
StandardShin went to Nagano via Kofu last weekend on business. He sent Mei-Shun above photo taken through a train window, just like a postcard by a professional photographer. This light pink sash would lead to juicy peaches in summer. On the other hand, our garden princess Momo-chan has already finished blooming with her bright petals spread on the ground to make a gorgeous carpet.
