Shin and Mei-Shun visited 三昧塚古墳 by car on weekend. Oh, green grass covering the tumulus turned reddish brown, shining like copper in morning sunlight. “It is a kind of mystery that nobody knows the name of an ancient king reigned such a rich area,” the husband always says. “That is why he gave me sleep paralysis after we met him for the first time,” the wife replies respectfully.

Flowers Flourish
StandardHere is Mademoiselle Vert, growing a stalk day by day. Mei-Shun also found 蝋梅 in our garden hides some buds opening a little among still green leaves. She would like to display an image of the latter soon, while could not take any photo today — closed at home by stormy weather. Although we had 大雪=tai-setsu, the 3rd of winter 二十四節気 yesterday, it seems to be warmer than such snowing.
Hello, Highness
StandardGoing into lunar November tomorrow, Mei-Shun looked up the sky this morning. Ms. Crescent sees her from southeast before dawn lately. The latter gets up at 5 : 00 to take care of Shin and Mikan-chan on weekdays, privileged to come across such a fantastic view. By the way, above image was actually taken yesterday, because today was a little too cloudy to catch her clearly.
Celestial Celebrity
StandardMei-Shun feels really glad to see a partial lunar eclipse tonight with Shin, who worked at home by chance. Oh, what a sunset in reddish pink! It is incredible — now Ms. Full Moon is on the opposite stage of sky. Already hidden behind our Mother Earth, she looks like a tall crescent. Flowing, light clouds sometimes cover to change her shape from a ripe banana to an orange ball.
Bow-Wow, Bow-Wow
StandardMeow, they say today is Dog Gift Day, reading month and date numbers as its 4 barks in our language. They should be cared with present boxes like Christmas Day? Hmm. Mine is February 22nd, set in the same 1987 as above by chance. By the way, this fish looks like coming directly from the sea of Nagasaki. Is it a treat for me, dad? Or did mom apply that idea of animal welfare?

Japanese Culture@holiday
StandardWe have 秋分=shu-bun, autumnal equinox today. Mei-Shun misses mother’s handmade o-hagi, while a bit shocked by the same plant in our garden. Mom-in-law is a wonderful manager, yet sometimes turns into a potent branch-cutter. Bushclover is quite a strong breed, often looked blooming twice an year around here in Ibaraki. Or many gardeners give it a chance to work out.
Flower Flavor
StandardYes, autumn has come. Mei-Shun caught nice scent in a recent morning, looked around yet could not find any tree. Her horsey riding club also has a big fragrant olive, already bloomed a bit. Princess Maria, do you recognize it? Those little, yellowish orange flowers let us relax enough to enjoy cool wind through sunlight still strong. And Professor M, thank you so much for above artistic image.
Precious Paws
StandardShin and Mei-Shun feel happy these days to see Mikan-chan sleep in her shining silver coat. She began to look a bit shaky in right rear leg several months before, made above couple scared of the day which they wish never comes. However, thanks to energy jelly sticks, she is all different right now — her eyes stopped sobbing, muscle grew up, etc. And oh, she quickly leaves a dining table when her mom returns from another room.
Lithe Line
StandardThis is one of corns mom-in-law grew. Not only a good cook, she is the best garden manager who chooses, plants and grows flowers, fruits and vegetables. Her 梅干し=ume-boshi, dried plum pickles has recently been found to be an excellent seasoning by Mei-Shun. Many people in our country eat it with rice porridge, yet a few put it directly into their cookers.
Three Tresses
StandardMei-Shun found this lovely flower on a pot where Shin’s Christmas gift were arranged years before. She first thought they were twins, yet little another found twining around the tallest one. Hi, great to see you here again. Which do you represent; Shin, mom-in-law and MS, or this couple accompanied by Mikan-chan? Either would be fine, with only difference that the wife is shorter than the husband.
