Meow, a happy new year. Mom told me that 2020 sounds like my voice, while I think Japanese has to wait 3030 (pronounced meow-meow). Here our day is set on coming February 22nd with three 2s, dog’s day on November 1st with three 1s (wow-wow-wow). Mom said 11th is better, yet four 1s do not look suitable to me without 22nd month on the solar calendar.

Meow, Mr. Aladdin went into a long sleep, left us to be replaced by Mr. Blue. His name comes from color of flame, not from his chocolate brown body. He is a bit smaller than the former who was purchased via internet by dad only, because mom stayed in a hospital. This time they went to a household appliances store together. Hi, do you reside here? Where is your partner or child today? This is the second time Mei-Shun see him/her and looking-like another on the way to the nearest shrine. His/her elegant beige coat, beady eyes and round smile was so attractive that she could not stop taking a photo. Thanks a lot for your good posing. And you as well, Tora-chan, just before rushing towards this photographer or a close friend outdoors.
Mei-Shun heard an interloper call her when she was involved in picking up gingko leaves on balcony floor. Hey, Tora-chan, what are you doing there? You remember that she told you over and over NOT to enter Mikan-chan’s territory, don’t you? It includes this outdoor space surrounded by a fence. Shin and Mei-Shun quite like you staying downstairs. Please keep a good girl.
Meow, mom admired white friends the other day, while silver was heard among them. I know her favorite is my coat, no need to hiss with jealousy. Now, today is so gray that I can sleep all day long. Here is my favorite bed, her legs covered with 半纏 or kimono-shaped jacket. She is good at smoothing me by hand, makes a fluffy doughnut whose topping sometimes glistens in green.

So this is her 3rd exhibition, purr. Mom and dad made a one-night trip to see Kaori-san or こがしわかおり, Ms. Kogashiwa, Kaori. She is one of mom’s best friends from her high school days. Another was held in 神保町, Tokyo where mom also visited and brought a lovely girl to home on Monday. She told me other two would join us soon to celebrate Christmas together. Purr … purrr …

As Mikan-chan meowed on Friday, Shin and Mei-Shun stayed in the ancient capital of our country on weekend. One of their many purposes was to dine at 畑かく where ぼたん鍋, wild pork simmered in an earthen pot is served during its hunting season from this month to March. They dropped in 月餅屋 to purchase two baskets filled with cute delicacies; one for themselves, while another for Kaori-san.
Meow, mom and dad left me home alone on my day of a month. They told me in an excuse that today is their day, because of the numbers: 11 can be read “í:-i” while 22 “fú:-fu” in Japanese, meaning a good couple. All right, you are allowed to go ahead for the ancient capital city to see Kaori-san’s exhibition. I’ll keep a good girl until tomorrow with this warm guy.

Meow, I miss him so much, who would soon appear in the living room again. Mom’s preparation for winter will continue until weekend when dad comes back from 上海. However, it was warm enough today, let me enjoy taking a nap on the sofa with no covering. Will 木枯らし１号, the first northern gale between the middle of October and the end of this month, really blow tonight?

Meow, she walked to the nearest shrine again this morning, not with dad yet alone. I kept a good girl as usual — it is clear to me whether she comes home soon or takes a time like yesterday.
