Shin, Mei-Shun, Mikan-chan and Ms. Scarlet visited 涸沼=Hinuma Pond on weekend for the first time. Much smaller compared to 霞ヶ浦=Kasumigaura Lake, while looks cleaner. It may be thanks to rivers flowing into the former, and the sea whose water climbs up to it at high tide. 大杉 Shrine and a swan sit still to observe people playing on the shore.
Oh, severe sunlight has returned toward Kanto area. Morning humidity augments our difficulty to endure such a heat wave. Mei-Shun feels relieved that her two mothers stay in cooler environment respectively; one is in higher place surrounded by a lot of oxygen emitters, while the other on lower floor of the same house taking care of a garden. Tora-chan seems to share comfortable life with the latter.
Shin and Mei-Shun quite liked another float 黒主山=kuronushi-yama. This chic, black stage features one of 六歌仙=roku-kasen, 6 great waka poets 大伴黒主 who looks up a cherry tree in full blossom. Both of 山 like above and 鉾; including their favorite 大船鉾, elder 船鉾, famous leader 長刀鉾=naginata-hoko and 月鉾=tsuki-hoko show all different façades between day and night.
Meow, Ms. Black Tea in our garden gave a tiny flower. She might keep good patience during a sultry week after the shortest rainy season — on behalf of it, Typhoon Aere still stays in the east of Kanto area. It is also rare to have it go through this archipelago in July. Mom seems to think that I’m in charge of weather, yet she is a bit wrong. My hope is dad’s and her health, that’s all. Purr … purrr …

梅雨=tsuyu or rainy season started, a weather forecaster told Mei-Shun last night. Just one day before normal, on Shin’s birthday this year. It would be rather difficult for her to fix schedule outdoors, precisely regarding horsey riding. And to choose clothes as well — if tomorrow see temperature under 20 degrees Celsius, 3 serial days would give us April feeling so rare that experienced 20 years before.
Meow, dad and mom brought me to a park. It was my first experience to get on Ms. Scarlet, held tightly in mom’s arms. She suggested that they visit an iris garden here, finding similar flowers along streets. They meant to leave me within that red car, yet I have become all free to go anywhere with them. Nice wind, fresh air after a rainfall, purr. Those violet ones are pretty, aren’t they?

… and this is the last day of solar May, yet rather rainy from early morning. On sunny weekend, Shin and Mei-Shun visited 乙戸沼 Park to walk together around the pond after months. 八重桜 or layer-petal cherry trees hold little, lovely fruits among green leaves. Hi, fountains, great to see you three open toward blue sky. Now they are heading to an iris garden perhaps in blossom.
Rainfalls from June to July in our country have magical power, says Mei-Shun’s instruction book for orchids care. Since recent weeks have been like such rainy season, she put Mademoiselle Vert outdoors — not on the ground while verandah floor, to let these ladies have a shower. Oh, what a difference! Natural watering seems far better than one every two days by a woman.
Mother of Mei-Shun still stays at 草津, where her eldest daughter and son-in-law kindly drove her to. Her younger daughter believes that beloved father always protects his widow wife, never worries about her sojourn there alone. Above is current image of ヤマツツジ in their garden, whom he could not enjoy since his wife found it several years before.
Shin and Mei-Shun are lucky enough to be able to see seasonal flowers at home through windows. Plum, cherry and wisteria are not planted in their garden while available in “backyard” for the 1st, at a nearby bus stop for the 2nd and similar to that chimerical ume for the 3rd. The wife recently found it tangled on the top of a tree, perhaps too high to remove from.
