“Kanon” composed by Master J. Pachelbel was inducted into Mei-Shun’s Hall of Fame:  she means to include it among relatively slow scores played before Shin’s favorite “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Master J. S. Bach. Other great composers also helps her with “Le Cygne”, “La Cinquantaine”, “Habanera”, “L’harmonie des anges”, “Pavane pour une Infante Défunte”, etc.

Mei-Shun recently noticed that “Clair de Lune” composed by Master C. Debussy has the same melody in soprano and bass keys of 2 bars on the 2nd page. This beautiful score consists of chords and single notes at a ratio of 5 : 1, requires all 10 fingers to move through 6 pages. When her ears catch something weird, either of little ones tends to press wrong place.

Rainfall again, and Mei-Shun sits on a chair in front of Ms. Piano. She has got quite used to “Kanon” composed by Master J. Pachelbel. This great score gives her another pleasure: “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Master J. S. Bach has become easier. The former let her calm down, listen to and enjoy beauty of chord. Oh, 6th crescent, happy to see you in northwestern sky after dark.

Mei-Shun normally sings with Ms. Piano alone. She enjoys it of course, while practice is for performance on stage. Her dance in kimono is a kind of the same as the one with horseies: grade 3 of riding technique certificate requires applicants to put on white in blouse and pants, black in jacket, long boots and helmet. By the way, she often touches wrong keys when the only audience listens beside.

We have 啓蟄=kei-chi-tsu, 3rd of vernal and whole 二十四節気 today. However, cold rain changed from snow seems to beat the ground so hard that creatures in hibernation might keep asleep. Mei-Shun has an appointment with Dr. M in the evening, worked, studied and practiced before singing moonlight scores on Ms. Piano until around tea time. “Let’s just add metal covering”, said the latter lady.

So we are on the last day of solar February, while lunar one starts from today. I and mom make it a rule to sing moonlight scores on Ms. Piano on behalf of that celestial beauty in 朔. Now is the time to head for our dance with Mademoiselle Angel and Mr. Marumorita. The latter lovely boy did it on a straight line for the first time, gave us joy of success. Purr … purrr …

Mei-Shun found that “Kanon” composed by Master J. Pachelbel has the same obligato in each 4 lines on the 1st page of score, followed by similar chords toward the last 6th. She practices it at least 4 times a week: her fingers, ears and eyes have become balanced better. It might be like dancing with horseies — fine combination between arms, back and legs work well.

… lessons Mikan-chan and Mei-Shun should have taken, yet gave them up. Slight rain from late last night gently moisturized our garden, while continued for too long a time to let them get on Ms. Scarlet. They therefore stayed home, sang “L’harmonie des Anges” composed by Master Burgmüller with Ms. Piano. Oh, such an opportunity taught her a little mistake in 2 serial notes.

Ms. Mistakes

When Mei-Shun practice “Pavane pour une Infante Défunte” composed by Master M. Ravel, she always felt somehow weird in a bar: main melody sounds like interrupted by obbligato on the same key. She therefore tried removing it, then immediately lost control a bit in right hand. Even a poor player might have little eyes on each fingertips, while reading scores by real ones.
