We have 立冬=ritto, the 1st of winter 二十四節気 today. Well, it might be real this year — Mei-Shun sees these days a thermometer of Ms. Scarlet point below 10 degrees Celsius in early morning and late at night. However, still a beginning of November turns it up to around 20 degrees in daytime. She therefore has to bring a jacket into horsey riding field, choose if put it on or off.
Lunar October starts from today. Mei-Shun walked to the nearest shrine in the morning, made a wish to Gods before drawing omikuji lots. Hmm, she would keep one 吉=kichi for Shin yet bind the other 末吉=sue-kichi onto a twig. Now Ms. Piano, with a new moon at night, shall we sing scores to call her in the 2nd crescent tomorrow? Such a fiery sunset would promise it.
Meow, it has become chilly from a few days before — mom brought me to Tokyo on Wednesday when rain started to fall. I had to control it not to get her wet, got myself exhausted. “Shall we go into futon blanket?” she said around teatime yesterday, pulling a 半纏 kimono coat out of a drawer, purr. After a nice nap, we found sunset to serve as a cool artist.

Have you kind 482 followers seen Jupiter shining in dark sky? Mei-Shun enjoys it tonight as well, when a half moon growing day by day from the west toward south. She would soon be followed by her eldest brother among planets of the sun including our mother earth. There, he always hides behind tree tops in the east, suddenly jumps up onto a bluish black carpet over our heads.
Shin, Mei-Shun, Mikan-chan and Ms. Scarlet visited 涸沼=Hinuma Pond on weekend for the first time. Much smaller compared to 霞ヶ浦=Kasumigaura Lake, while looks cleaner. It may be thanks to rivers flowing into the former, and the sea whose water climbs up to it at high tide. 大杉 Shrine and a swan sit still to observe people playing on the shore.
Oh, severe sunlight has returned toward Kanto area. Morning humidity augments our difficulty to endure such a heat wave. Mei-Shun feels relieved that her two mothers stay in cooler environment respectively; one is in higher place surrounded by a lot of oxygen emitters, while the other on lower floor of the same house taking care of a garden. Tora-chan seems to share comfortable life with the latter.
Shin and Mei-Shun quite liked another float 黒主山=kuronushi-yama. This chic, black stage features one of 六歌仙=roku-kasen, 6 great waka poets 大伴黒主 who looks up a cherry tree in full blossom. Both of 山 like above and 鉾; including their favorite 大船鉾, elder 船鉾, famous leader 長刀鉾=naginata-hoko and 月鉾=tsuki-hoko show all different façades between day and night.
Meow, Ms. Black Tea in our garden gave a tiny flower. She might keep good patience during a sultry week after the shortest rainy season — on behalf of it, Typhoon Aere still stays in the east of Kanto area. It is also rare to have it go through this archipelago in July. Mom seems to think that I’m in charge of weather, yet she is a bit wrong. My hope is dad’s and her health, that’s all. Purr … purrr …

梅雨=tsuyu or rainy season started, a weather forecaster told Mei-Shun last night. Just one day before normal, on Shin’s birthday this year. It would be rather difficult for her to fix schedule outdoors, precisely regarding horsey riding. And to choose clothes as well — if tomorrow see temperature under 20 degrees Celsius, 3 serial days would give us April feeling so rare that experienced 20 years before.
Meow, dad and mom brought me to a park. It was my first experience to get on Ms. Scarlet, held tightly in mom’s arms. She suggested that they visit an iris garden here, finding similar flowers along streets. They meant to leave me within that red car, yet I have become all free to go anywhere with them. Nice wind, fresh air after a rainfall, purr. Those violet ones are pretty, aren’t they?
