Shin and Mei-Shun celebrated 夏越の祓 tonight on a cup of coffee and 水無月=minazuki as usual. 若鮎=waka-ayu and カエルまんじゅう=kaeru-manju, shaped like sweetfish and smiling flog face respectively made friends with above one-day delicacy, while only the husband took the former. The wife was too much distracted by a ticket arrived minutes before to get shots against that novel coronavirus.

Works Well

Standard

Thank you so much, Master Bando, Mss. S and K who advised Mei-Shun to use anti-inflammatory patches. She actually had pain again after trying horsey riding on 9th — had been happy for losing it. It continued for a whole week this time, then moved to left groin. Hearing such a story, gentle master gave this 名取 of another party above medicine prescribed by her own home doctor.

… kindly for the last date of May on Monday this year. Mei-Shun likes such an arrangement which juxtaposes a month with the next in a week. And it is by chance the  day when both of her mother and Master Bando take inoculations for that novel coronavirus. On the other hand, months closed by Fridays give her relaxed weekends at the beginning of months follow.

Silent Sight

Standard

It was cool and all-through rainy today. Mei-Shun visited a nearby hair salon, enjoyed a glass of pineapple juice while waiting for dyeing medicine to calm down. She found a little slide in a park across a lane, nearly covered with wild grass on lower steps. Perhaps no children play here after the pandemic shock — astounding reach of a global disease.

Cooking Control

Standard

Thanks a million, Ms. Last One. Mei-Shun was really happy for dancing with you in a 45-minute private lesson today. Princess Maria, sorry for pulling you out of a stall again. Your caregivers were a bit confused, thought you had no appointment any more. Now seeing tolerable numbers on a scale at home, she feels satisfied with her appetite management — 1.7 bags of sugar have gone.

Red Rose

Standard

Mei-Shun often has a sore throat after catching a cold. Coughing for weeks has lead to awful bronchitis. Such a condition is too inconvenient to balance with active life, she concentrates on care by gargle, iodine lotion and medical drink. Yes, water plays a very important role; a glass of it easily lets slight fever go, humidity weakens viruses including that novel one perhaps.

Function Facilitator

Standard

Mei-Shun sometimes enjoys feeling of empty stomach. Her appetite seems to come from eyes, rather than ears to catch under-breast growling. On the other hand, the latter is her barometer of health. It is therefore better to refrain from eating when no sound is made around the waist. Various hot drink including kudzu-root tea, milk, juice and hard candy are recommended to help her digestive system.

Dangerous Delicacy

Standard

Mei-Shun recently devised a fascinating menu. She cooks salad almost every day for Shin, using oil and spice left on the bottom of a bowl as sauce for rice with mixed grains. One day an idea came to her — it is like another salad or fried rice. Here is a bag of easy powder for the latter. How would it work when spread with sesame oil on rice? Well, a new arrival of めし泥棒, she can never stop chopsticks!

Control Conclusion

Standard

Mei-Shun reviewed her eating methods, regarding sweets and alcohol especially. 1) Breakfast full of sweets would be all right after a day of good perspiration, while never the same at dinner. 2) When she has dinner accompanied by alcohol, desserts should be fruits only. Lunch therefore could be the best to include both beer and ice cream. 3) 1 tiny glass of sake is all different from 2 in normal size.

So we would see the first full moon of lunar 2021 tomorrow. It is a bit cloudy from this morning, relieves Mei-Shun of hanging futon mats outdoors. Almost no sunlight, yet open windows for fresh air. It has become one of new customs to avoid infection of the novel coronavirus. She heard that less people passed away in our country last year, partly thanks to such manners perhaps.
