Missing Much

Standard

Mei-Shun has felt somehow at odd in hands and fingers since she started practicing Allegro among Impromptus, Opus 90 composed by Master Schubert. It seems she is lucky enough to be able to let Ms. Piano rest for a while, to concentrate upon kabuki dance instead. Oh, she has to contact Mr. O, late Master Mei-Shu’s husband if she left a 手拭=te-nugui, cotton towel necessary for performance in autumn.

Welcome back, St. Gecko.

Performance Promised

Standard

Master Bando gave Mei-Shun a phone call, informing that 邦楽発表会 would be safely held in November. Other impresarios including Masters Wakayagi and Fujima also kindly approved her to dance on the stage. Master Mei-Shu, your last 名取 is so happy to let you know on this matter. She chose 恋の手習い of 京鹿子娘道成寺, instead of being checked by Master Sen-Sha=扇舎 or a kabuki actor Mr. 尾上菊之助.

Master Mei-Shu on stage after one-night lesson

Stormy Dance

Standard

Mei-Shun restarts kabuki dance lessons for Professor M from tonight. Southern wind blows violently, rain falls and stops suddenly over and over. Such a weather is not kind enough to those who put on kimono, yet it does not matter to her. She would change into a yukata at the community center, staying serene like lady’s tresses saved from Shin’s lawn mower.

ASAP!

Standard

There are two important persons regarding 邦楽発表会; Mr. K and Master Bando, one of close friends to beloved Master Mei-Shu while the former a neighbor in charge of community center, where Mei-Shun needs to reserve a room to practice kabuki dance. Now restrictions related to the novel coronavirus are almost all lifted, she would be pleased to contact them.

Here is the 3rd mademoiselle …

With a supporter later.

Iris Blue

Standard

Shin and Mei-Shun visited 乙戸沼 Park on weekend, expecting those flowers on season. Thank you so much, gentle ladies, for waiting above couple in 80% blossom. And they reminded the wife of a yukata Master Mei-Shu gave her several years ago. She might be ringing a bell to let her last 名取 contact Master Bando to apply for kabuki dance performance on stage in November.

My Day

Standard

It is today, expecting lunar leap April tomorrow. Since weather forecasters say it would be so-so, why don’t you walk to the nearest shrine to make a new wish, mom? I know you are pleased because the club where my friend horseies stay would open from next week. After making class reservation on the net, you concentrate on kabuki dance practice from morning. I’ll join you, purr …

Kimono Feather

Standard

Lunar April starts from today. Mei-Shun walked to the nearest shrine, asked Gods to give protection onto her kabuki dance practice at home. Omikuji lots say … hi, gorgeous pheasant boy, great to hear your love song again. Listen, one for Shin was No. 23 kichi=lucky while the other for herself No. 39 kyo=the worst luck. The latter number is read “than-kyu” in Japanese, appreciating her fortune?

Too good at standing with his back to sunlight.

Master’s Home

Standard

Shin went on a business trip to 徳島. Mei-Shun has not visited that prefecture where Master Mei-Shu was from, while famous for 阿波踊り=awa-odori, a dance performance on parade. Their main airport featuring above dance in name gives free lesson to tourists. When the loved lady joined them for a joke, she was awarded the best performer of that day.

Shall We?

Standard

Meow, it stopped raining finally. Sunlight warms me looking down green garden, purr. Mom is happy to clean up living room, my smaller restroom and — her kimono skirt stored in one of my beds. Oh? You mean to practice 京鹿子娘道成寺, don’t you? Some part is forgotten, other all right. One whole year has passed since you taught it to Professor M.

Not So

Standard

… easy it is. Mei-Shun meant to resume kabuki dance practice at home in preparation for stage performance in autumn. However, having been used to spend weekdays in horsey riding, Spanish and piano, she has to squeeze out time available keeping good health. One idea therefore is to shift into her own “summer time”: loosen schedule to dance with horseies who prefer winter.

Would you agree, little snowy?
