Mei-Shun went up to the roof floor after months to see her above backyard gingko tree. He has grown so tall and wide that all eastern view is covered by leaves. Oops, fallen ones almost clogged drainage. It is time to clean them up to stop making a dangerous pool here.
Lunar October starts from today. Mei-Shun walked to the nearest shrine on weekend, found smaller 鳥居=torii gate missing God — seriously, a kind of name tug attached to it lost “神” letter. It seems some of Gods living there were in a hurry, departed for 出雲 a few days earlier. Others might leave later through larger front gate, next to a stone monument explaining history of the shrine.

Meow, it is getting colder day by day. I sometimes feel too much freezed to stay alone on the sofa. Mom, come here and hold me on your legs, or I have to go into the restroom again. Only five minutes would be all right, since you always leave this blanket warm after sitting down on it. Oh, thanks a lot for spreading a piece of African cloth on me. So comfortable is my new bed. Lunar September started from Sunday. Clear sky would therefore mean beautiful moonlight tonight, which Mei-Shun loves the most not because of its slim shape. She walked to the nearest shrine to greet Gods in the morning, drew omikuji lots for herself and Shin. The former was 末吉, a little lucky while the latter 吉, lucky. She knows the reason: they say she should have come earlier.
We are expecting 仲秋の名月, the best moon of the year tonight. However, clouds are so much spread in the sky that it looks very difficult to hold a party serving rice-cake balls for the gentle, bright figure. Mei-Shun feels sorry, yet autumn has just begun. Cicadas are still singing lively on sunny days, while cricket chorus is getting louder night by night.
Shin and Mei-Shun drove to a museum in 水戸 on weekend to see the crown trimmed with horse-shape metal beads found in 三昧塚 ancient grave. On the ground floor, you can enjoy putting on a replica set around a black cap. Another mock-up more similar to the real one is exhibited in a glass box upstairs, accompanied by a pair of earrings. Beautiful full moon, they shine just like you.
Lunar June starts from today. Clouds have been too thick to see the moon at night, yet it does not matter tonight. Mei-Shun feels lucky to have rainfall stop from yesterday afternoon, meant to walk but ride to the nearest shrine after 3-week respite. We have what current season is this year, that is all right. So she made a simple wish to Gods: please save us all on the Japanese archipelago.
Stormy last Saturday forced Shin and Mei-Shun stay at home all day long, pressed appetite button in the husband’s brain. He asked the wife’s permission to order pizzas at night.
