Brilliant Blue

Shin, Mei-Shun, Mikan-chan and Ms. Scarlet visited 涸沼=Hinuma Pond on weekend  for the first time. Much smaller compared to 霞ヶ浦=Kasumigaura Lake, while looks cleaner. It may be thanks to rivers flowing into the former, and the sea whose water climbs up to it at high tide. 大杉 Shrine and a swan sit still to observe people playing on the shore.

Stormy Sun

Standard

Mei-Shun cleaned up rooms in earlier morning, avoiding harsh sunlight which leads to a lot of beads on her face. She reserved a hair salon nearby Tokyo Station in the evening, leaving home around 15 : 00. Just before opening the door, Shin gave her a message that it rains hard there. However, the wife found no teardrop on train windows nor streets outdoors. It might be a sudden downpour.

Shin and Mei-Shun had breakfast on higher floor of their regular hotel, saw a young guy in kimono. “He might work at next door,” the wife said meaning 南座. They currently  accommodate kabuki actor 尾上菊之助, or ex-head of Kikunoe Ryu 扇舎 in Nausicaä, Princess of Windy Valley while features 坂東玉三郎 whose 京鹿子娘道成寺 DVD helped her so much.

Shin and Mei-Shun quite liked another float 黒主山=kuronushi-yama. This chic, black stage features one of 六歌仙=roku-kasen, 6 great waka poets 大伴黒主 who looks up a cherry tree in full blossom. Both of 山 like above and 鉾; including their favorite 大船鉾, elder 船鉾, famous leader 長刀鉾=naginata-hoko and 月鉾=tsuki-hoko show all different façades between day and night.

Thanks a lot, Mikan-chan. She gave you kind followers one of the reasons Mei-Shun went outdoors into severe sunlight last Wednesday. Here the latter rider show you another: she visited Kyoto with Shin to see 宵々山=yoi-yoi-yama, 後祭=ato-matsuri of Gion Festival from Friday. Oh, beautiful 大船鉾=o-fune-hoko, great to meet you for the first time in recent 8 years after you came back.

Tour Together

Happy birthday, Shin, who was born on the best day to start Japanese arts including kabuki dance, 琴=koto, 三味線=shamisen, 尺八=shakuhachi or vertical bamboo flute, etc. Since Mondays are his busiest, Mei-Shun cooked a lot yesterday. She meant to go out with him this morning for a hair salon nearby Tokyo station, yet barred by such a windy rainfall. Now would you come with mom, Angel Mikan-chan?

Tiny Train

Standard

Shin and Mei-Shun went to Tokyo by Ms. Scarlet to meet Kaori-san, whose exhibition had been held in Tokyo till weekend. This time she drew for a cat fancier/story writer who serves a gallery on the ground floor of her own house. Well, it is often difficult to find the best car park around such an old residential area — oh, here is one just next to a railroad crossing.

Shin went to Nagano via Kofu last weekend on business. He sent Mei-Shun above photo taken through a train window, just like a postcard by a professional photographer. This light pink sash would lead to juicy peaches in summer. On the other hand, our garden princess Momo-chan has already finished blooming with her bright petals spread on the ground to make a gorgeous carpet.

Meow, mom has long been looking for a nice soy sauce cruet to replace one of my friends shown above. It worked well smiling, yet began to drip lately caused by a tiny crack just under the lid. She found left one at いそべ陶苑 in 笠間, joking at me not to catch it. Well, does it look like a sparrow in size and shape? I’m not so much interested in birds, while Tora-chan sometimes makes them a wild meal.

Shin and Mei-Shun dropped in famous 笠間稲荷神社 before visiting a pottery shop serving soba noodle as well, yet opens at 11 : 00. They wake up early in the morning even on weekends, got on Ms. Scarlet around 8 : 00. The husband always has a clear schedule; visit 三昧塚古墳 first, then turn to 友部, one of rest areas on 常磐 Motorway to satisfy the wife who craved for a soft serve.
