Shin, Mikan-chan and Mei-Shun made another trip to the ancient 1,000-year capital of our country. Gion Festival serves 後祭=the latter celebration right now, immediately after 前祭=the former held until 17th. Great to see you again, beautiful 大船鉾. Where is your golden dragon head? It might be stored safely at somewhere, ready to appear on 24th for 山鉾巡行 parade.

Joy of Noto: 2
StandardThanks a lot, Mikan-chan. As she gently wrote with fluffy paws, their goal on the 2nd day of trip to 能登半島 was 輪島の朝市=morning market. Summer wind here is also harsh, yet green rice paddies look growing well. Oh, hello grandma who sells cute, handmade works. It seems to Mei-Shun that similar items are on a table, while not the same lady she met several years before.
Joy of Noto: 1
StandardShin, Mikan-chan and Mei-Shun fled from a shocking heat wave hit Kanto Area on weekend, with only one air conditioner available at home. It was an idea of the wife to take it as a good chance to visit a new spa, while the husband who promptly chose 和倉温泉, made necessary reservations. They have been to 能登半島 in winter, impressed by severe weather to grow serene minds.
Hard Hands
StandardThanks a million to you kind 494 followers of this site. Please listen, Shin and Mei-Shun visited 二所ノ関部屋 on rainy weekend, watched rikishi training in the morning. They first went through a warm-up including 四股 and 腰割り exercise. Then moved to すり足 in 2 土俵 rings, used by 幕下=maku-shita, 3rd highest rank sumo wrestlers and upper ones respectively.
Tiny Tour
StandardMei-Shun went to a hair salon nearby Tokyo Station for almost once-an-year curling. Yes, she had it on Shin’s birthday June 6th last year. It was also a start of rainy season which once had been said to have wrapped up in just 3 weeks. Sky is full of gray clouds today, sometimes sheds drops on train windows. Ushiku Pond, a chimney shaped like a big cup noodle and Skytree all look fine.
Rainy, Airy
StandardShin kindly brought Mei-Shun, who 90% recovered from a sore throat after almost a whole month, to a German restaurant on weekend. They always serve this couple; fine plates to the husband, season-best beer to the wife sharing superb dishes with him of course. Hmm, simmered pork with dried apricot is really delicious. And a rare bottle here, brewed in our country makes amazing combination with it.
Tokyo Tour
StandardMei-Shun, who lately resumed practice of “Life is Merry-go-round” on Ms. Piano, was not on that fun-fair equipment featuring horseies but on a train to Tokyo Station today. A bit cloudy sky still accommodates clear views of Ushiku Pond, a cup noodle maker’s chimney and Skytree as usual. After having a haircut, she enjoyed the first walk toward the end of Joban Line platform.
Snowy Strawberry
StandardMost people of our country saw white Tuesday followed by freezing, stormy Wednesday. Mei-Shun stayed safe at home with Mikan-chan, winning Shin who managed to take an off today to enjoy picking up those ruby fruits with his wife. They drove toward the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, found their usual place closed. Bankruptcy? No-no, just after kindergarten children.
Fly to Fukuoka
StandardOh, what a busy day for Shin and Mei-Shun it was. The husband returned home around midnight, left this morning before 7 : 00 to the nearest station driven by the wife. She started a laundry machine, read newspaper, hung futon mats, vacuumed all over rooms including stairs and even under a sofa. After a cup of tea, she went out for a bank, postal office and shopping. Now he turns to a business trip.

StandardShin and Mei-Shun visited 益子 for the first time on weekend. According to a beautician for the wife, it accommodates almost all shops gathering around the main railway station. In nearby famous 笠間 City, they are scattered a bit too much to find the best place. That is why the husband immediately agreed with her to choose the former town in Tochigi Prefecture.
