One of cherry trees planted in the garden of the nearest shrine has a long arm, almost touching the ground. Such shape is often seen at river banks, let people on boats enjoy direct communication with those pale-pink petals. Thanks to cool weather of this weekend, they are still in 70% bloom at maximum around here. It would be the best for young children to make debut at school soon.

Week-holiday
StandardShin and Mei-Shun visited one of their favorite soba restaurant for lunch. Yes, he is going for a business trip on weekend, made today off to stay with her. After a nice meal, they drove to a site where beautiful cherry trees are accommodated; violet pink, weeping one in similar shade, pale pink 染井吉野, etc. The last is almost full bloom in Tokyo, yet still in buds around here.
Floating Clouds
StandardOh, Mikan-chan, please stay asleep on the sofa when mom plays “Lieder Ohne Worte” Op.53.No.2, composed by Master Mendelssohn. It is one of her favorite pieces, sounds nice and serves good for finger stretching. Or if she practice more to gain a flowing tune, would you listen quietly like Momo-chan, Princess Peach in our garden does? She bloomed from 10% to 60% in a few days.
Mademoiselle Vert
StandardThank you so much, Professor S. Mei-Shun received a lovely orchid from that intelligent, yet soft-touch lady on Saturday. It was almost the same day when she kindly came to see the ex-inpatient at hospital 4 years before with a bouquet of colorful sweet peas. And it was also the brilliant timing when Ms. Yellow Card woke up from one-year nap to bloom again.
White after White
StandardPlum blossom was almost over and 白木蓮=haku-mokuren, magnolia would follow. Horsetails also does on the way to the nearest shrine, where Mei-Shun lately drew an omikuji lot saying she has the least luck. Since someone might deceive her into trouble, she must be wary to recognize good or bad ones. Well, a difficult mission — there is nobody pernicious closely around her.
Your Highness
StandardPlease kindly take Mei-Shun’s appreciation for your graceful exhibition so far. Almost 2 months have passed since the eldest Princess Cymby bloomed. Now she looks a bit tired, others would follow soon. Timing has come to remove them from pot throne to a vase. Now your friend in the garden is ready to receive your baton, dance in a pink kimono, with several hasty buds on the edge of her sleeves.
And Rain
StandardWe had 春一番=haru ichiban, the first southern wind blows between 立春 and 春分 on Saturday. Yes, Mei-Shun knew that. It gave warmer touch on her cheeks than at 乙戸沼, let her hang futon mats outdoors and dried horsey-riding field. She therefore changed stormy today’s schedule into yesterday, enjoyed communication with Mr. Tea Time and Princess Maria.
Rain, Rain,
StandardWow, here is a wide paddy with no rice but horsey. Tearful weather started at the beginning of this month made such a condition. Mei-Shun always feels happy to visit the club, yet not so much when she sees muddy surface of her boots. Neither does Ms. Last One perhaps with her brown coat full of gray dots. Honey, let’s take it as blown from plum blossom over there.
Early Spring
StandardMei-Shun’s route to the nearest shrine shows clearly which season walks with her. Current one sees veronica persica and plums; blue, white and pink bloom more and more day by day. Yet oops, she drew 凶=kyo, unlucky omikuji lot. Dear flowers, 狛犬 couple and moon-window lanterns, please give your merciful sympathy to this a bit plump dieter.
Sweet Flower
StandardFollowing below is 梅=ume, plum blossom along a lane toward parking space of our horsey riding club. It is so cute, yet rare to see such a short tree: we have to bend our back to feel sweet scent. Another is brown sugar candy with pieces of dried salty plum topped, sold at a restaurant. Soooo tasty, with packing technology which might a bit surprise many Japanese consumers including Mei-Shun.
