Happy Birthday, mom-in-law. Mei-Shun is always pleased to go out for shopping of flowers and a cake for you. Stormy wind pushed her into a shop for the former where only a few, tiny arrangements were displayed. She asked a clerk if superior one was available. She replied it was, yet 2023 first auction would be held tomorrow. “We have therefore a bit elder ones here…” No problem at all.
congratulations!

StandardMeow, Respect-for-the-Aged Day of 2022 is the same to my birthday. Does it mean me of 19 years old on 19th by chance? At least mom never takes it so. She calls me the sweetest honey ever in the last year of teens, purr. And dad, great to find you in 上海 from yesterday, cleared 10-day quarantine at 青島. We promise to keep “good girls” until welcome you back home.

Edible Egg
StandardThis August starts from Monday. Yes, Mei-Shun is ready to spend well the hottest month of the year. And happy birthday, mom. She went to cool 草津 from the middle of last month, plans to stay there until September. It is her custom since beloved dad departed 13 years before, so their two daughters have to congratulate her indirectly via phone or e-mail.
Moon or Rain
StandardHappy birthday, elder sister. Mei-Shun met her yesterday, for the first time in amazing 3 years hit by that still “novel” coronavirus. She looked fine, replied that 佃煮=tsukuda-ni, fish and shrimp from 霞ヶ浦 Lake simmered in sake, soy sauce and sugar until half-dried, would be preferred as a gift to peanut crackers. All right, it would be delivered ASAP. Now Ms. Piano, which of above shall we sing tonight?
Tour Together
StandardHappy birthday, Shin, who was born on the best day to start Japanese arts including kabuki dance, 琴=koto, 三味線=shamisen, 尺八=shakuhachi or vertical bamboo flute, etc. Since Mondays are his busiest, Mei-Shun cooked a lot yesterday. She meant to go out with him this morning for a hair salon nearby Tokyo station, yet barred by such a windy rainfall. Now would you come with mom, Angel Mikan-chan?
Tiny Train
StandardShin and Mei-Shun went to Tokyo by Ms. Scarlet to meet Kaori-san, whose exhibition had been held in Tokyo till weekend. This time she drew for a cat fancier/story writer who serves a gallery on the ground floor of her own house. Well, it is often difficult to find the best car park around such an old residential area — oh, here is one just next to a railroad crossing.
Fascinating Finish
StandardSo this is the end of our fiscal year, the same of lunar February and birthday of Professor M. Mei-Shun visited her horsey riding club for practice of canter today. It is really great to do it under 80% cherry blossom, her favorite for 染井吉野. Momo-chan, our garden princess is also in similar level, looks like dancing in a gorgeous kimono. Mademoiselle Vert opened her first bud.
Sleet to Snow
StandardMeow, 3rd of 2022 day of mine has come. I heard from mom that it is the first time after decades for her to see such weather in March. Freezing from early this morning, while seemed normal. However, temperature stayed below 5 degrees Celsius, even lower around noon when I found white petals coming down from gray sky. “Oh, Master Bando safely received her birthday flowers I sent”, she said.

StandardThanks a lot, young people to reach 20 years old within March 2023. You give us adults a holiday on Monday, making 3-day little vacation after just 2-day new year. No rain, no snow is convenient for gorgeous kimonos you put on, that makes Mei-Shun feel happy as well. She stays at home with Mikan-chan like a normal weekday — Shin works as usual. Such a situation is suitable to vacuum rooms up, while to cook beans.
Bon Appétit!
StandardMei-Shun takes it nice to see a new month starts from Monday. November 2021 therefore has 5 beginnings of a week, seems a bit rare for shorter months with 30 days. It might not be a reason why Kaori-san chose this timing, while she saw one of her high-school friends just in front of 寿=Kotobuki Building, Kyoto which accommodates her 4th exhibition from Saturday.
