This August starts from Monday. Yes, Mei-Shun is ready to spend well the hottest month of the year. And happy birthday, mom. She went to cool 草津 from the middle of last month, plans to stay there until September. It is her custom since beloved dad departed 13 years before, so their two daughters have to congratulate her indirectly via phone or e-mail.

Lunar July starts from today. So Ms. Piano, could you join Mei-Shun to sing scores honoring that gentle lady who stays behind dark sky tonight? By the way, “gecko” sounds like her light in our language. He/She might therefore mean the same appearing on a kitchen window from a few days before. Thanks a million for your protection — we hope our brightness indoors helps to serve you enough dinner.

Shin, mom-in-law and Mei-Shun visited a restaurant serving grilled eels. This delicacy is popular on summer 丑の日=Day of the Ox during 土用=doyo. Yet oh, it starts from tomorrow to continue until one day before 立秋=risshu, the 1st of autumnal 二十四節気.  They therefore went too soon for a week, how nice a mistake! A big egg roll would also help them to keep lively.

Mei-Shun saw her home dentist Dr. M in the evening. The former patient asked to change a reservation previously set at the end of last month — scared if such torrid weather might burn her in daytime. However, it has become much cooler from last week thanks to our friend Typhoon Aere. There was no problem in her mouth, while a little on the way to home with a slight traffic jam.

Now she would make more efforts to serve you happy and interesting topics, expecting the next flavor with 8. By the way, she treated herself to one whipped cream in between this morning.

Oh? What happened to you, dear clock above Ms. Piano? It must be around 8 : 15 in the morning, yet you are 8 hours behind. Mei-Shun has to go toward a garbage station soon, surprised at your message when she looked up from a piece of superb chocolate cake. All right, batteries would be replenished later — oops! 8 : 10 at night saw you suddenly start running to reach the real time.

Wow, it looks like another Mei-Shun is standing in a box. She feels really happy receiving made-to-measure boots at her horsey riding club today. This pair is gift from generous Shin when her mother celebrated his promotion months before. “Since it is thanks to your support,” he said who enormously satisfied his mother-in-law by such a warm comment.

Lunar May starts from today. Mei-Shun dropped in above shrine, after driving Shin toward the nearest station, to make a wish to Gods while draw omikuji lots. She is quite busy this morning — appointment with her home dentist Dr. M follows at 10 : 15, with Ame-chan on her lower left jaw fell from a real molar just yesterday. A dermatologist is also expected to see her if she could reach his clinic in time.

Mei-Shun drew 2 omikuji lots at the shrine. One was 凶=kyo, the worst luck while the other 吉=kichi, lucky. And oh, number 33 for the latter sounds like meow-meow to her native ears. So this is a message from you to dad and mom, Mikan-chan. They would keep it at home as the best charm. The former was tied to a twig at feet of 狛犬 N-chan. Your kind conveyance of it for purification by Gods would be highly appreciated.

Mei-Shun moves from winter clothes to summer ones little by little these days: she brings coats, gloves and knits to a nearby laundry recently restarted their business. Regarding kimono, many of her yukata seem worn out as a whole. Being frayed under sleeves may be because they are often pulled here in kabuki dance. Since all thumbs in sewing, she would ask aid from mom-in-law.
