Mei-Shun has been so much interested in cleaning and treatment for Princess Maria who puts all white coat. Although the rider makes it a rule to visit Her Highness twice a week, she decided to add one more today to attend a lecture held by a “stable master” of our club. He is also good at making various ornaments using horseshoes including this pumpkin for Halloween.

Blessed Exercise?
StandardMei-Shun resumed to walk to the nearest shrine, drew two 吉=kichi, lucky omikuji lots consecutively. They mean quite similar as saying; those who see the 45th lot have everything in full shape, while those who do the 49th have everything satisfied like 仲秋の名月 with no clouds. Both advises her to stay humble, and it would go better with Gods’ protection.
Parfait or Sundae
StandardMei-Shun read several sites mentioning the difference between these similar desserts, found a clear answer. “Parfait” comes from French to mean a perfect dessert; layered ice cream, fruit/chocolate sauce and whipped cream with cornflakes on the top. “Sundae” used to be sold on Sundays; ice cream decorated by various toppings. Well, which would you like, or would you mind choosing one?
Bread Only
StandardJapanese has a lot of foreign words, shared by English the most, pronounced adding vowels to all syllables and ends. For example, “lemonade” is written and read in Roman letters as “le-mo-ne-do”, often makes no sense of that soft drink for native speakers. On the other hand, the flour-based staple food is called “pan”, coming from “pain” of French with milk (mi-ru-ku), butter (ba-ta) and jam (ja-mu) on your breakfast table.
Japanese Culture@holiday
StandardNot only in our country, watermelons seem to be the most popular fruit in summer. Here is 金福=kin-fuku one grown specifically in Gifu Prefecture. With kin means “gold” while fuku “happiness” in Japanese, they are so loved by Hong Kong people that we must be in a hurry to order and enjoy them before exported. He is also satisfied, smiling to come to Shin and Mei-Shun.
Joy of Kyoto: 2
StandardCicadas are singing lively, quite sooner to get up compared to Kanto area. Shin and Mei-Shun’s favorite itinerary includes walking around the commodious garden of 二条城 in the morning, yet they chose to take a bus to 四条大橋 this time. On the way to 八坂神社, the wife found a statue of 出雲阿国=izumo-no-okuni who started kabuki. Ah, 南座 is here protected by you, Master.
7-5-3 Method
StandardA weather forecaster talked about it the other day. That does not mean our celebration for children’s growth but distance to a rain front which brings current season on Japanese Archipelago except for Hokkaido. When it stays 700km away from Tokyo area, we could see the sun. If it comes up to 500km, it would be cloudy. And pressed above to 300km or nearer than 八丈島 Island, it would bring rainfall.
New Face!
StandardWelcome to our home. Your predecessor worked for 12 years, recently had some trouble with cacophony. Shin likes you so much, yet quite surprised at the price, picked you up on the net for more reasonable purchase. Now you are here, it is Mei-Shun who is in charge of operation. You work as a laundry box, while as a dryer before and after washing respectively? That sounds terrific.
Once in 3Y
StandardMei-Shun needs to renew her certificate for immigration-related jobs, being in a hurry a bit this time. Hers will be expired at the end of next month, so she planned to attend an imperative seminar in April at Yokohama. However, it seems they failed to reserve a hall there, replaced it by one in Okinawa! Anyway, one of the relics of Edo Castle gave gentle words of “well done” to her.
Beads Beats
StandardHere are cute, round members of our garden. Mom-in-law received this big paper pot of green necklace from Mei-Shun, keeps as it is next to her cactus corner. Baby buds of opuntia greet them with shiny silver thorns still soft. Looking forward to rainy season soon, blue hydrangea also holds a lot of little balls. May we expect many flowers after your interval of last year?
