Mei-Shun visited her home dentist Dr. M today. After a regular check last month, she should have finished it within 2019. However, her careless nature put necessary insurance card somewhere else instead of usual place. She looked and looked for it, took up 30 minutes to drive. This time everything went fine, let her make a new-year greeting to the doctor.
Here are ice milk balls which help Mei-Shun much these days. Similar to hard candies in size and calories, this product satisfies her especially after meal. Although the former take long time to melt in mouth by heat, the latter promptly flow into throat keeping cool texture. Still, a feeling almost the same as a spoonful of ice cream is given. Better than leaving half a cup or a bar, isn’t it?
It is on you, Princess Maria. How have you been during year-end and new-year vacation? Quite short for you from Dec. 31 to Jan. 2 while between Dec.27 and Jan. 5 for this mom. A staff said you look like rice cake, which is one of the reasons why she added one bag of sugar around waist. Others include a birthday cake for her mom-in-law, handmade red-bean rice, etc.

… toward Gods at the nearest shrine, Shin and Mei-Shun made it on New Year’s Day. The husband walked to there by himself this morning, told the wife that all staffs in white kimono sat still in the main building to serve for well-wishers. However, it was only he who visited that pressure from them let him pray in a second and run away. That might be why our 豆苗 babies suddenly went green.

Shin and Mei-Shun visited mother’s home of the latter today. She has one happy matter to report — her beloved father came back. That means 蝋梅=robai, Chimonanthus praecox descended from mom’s garden bloomed on his birthday January 1st. He must have reached 82 years old to enjoy golf, trekking and painting. Still, welcome back to us on such a cute, shining little flower.
Meow, a happy new year. Mom told me that 2020 sounds like my voice, while I think Japanese has to wait 3030 (pronounced meow-meow). Here our day is set on coming February 22nd with three 2s, dog’s day on November 1st with three 1s (wow-wow-wow). Mom said 11th is better, yet four 1s do not look suitable to me without 22nd month on the solar calendar.

Necklace finally bloomed. Mei-Shun was very happy when saw one flower in a pot, happier as others follow in a few days. Since several buds were grown outdoors, she let them join indoor friends. On the other hand, 豆苗 or pea seedlings came to her kitchen for the first time. According to an explanation, second harvest would be available in a few weeks. How do you feel in this package of Cobb salad?
Thanks a million, Shin, a hard worker even on weekends. Following are his souvenirs including 縮緬山椒=chirimen sansho, dried anchovy and Japanese pepper and 千枚漬=sen-mai-zuke, 聖護院 horseradish pickles by Mei-Shun’s request. And the best is a bag of cute, round rice cakes. They are amazingly soft and tasty after a whole day, no need to bake to put into お雑煮=o-zoni, our new-year soup.
