Mom-in-law finally left the hospital. During her stay for 2 weeks, Mei-Shun visited there every day bringing a newspaper and a few report on house matters. What has come into the latter’s mind was that every family member has an important role at home. Here she happily bought a horsey halter in coffee color with a leader by gratuity from the generous ex-inpatient.
I, mom says. Meow, is it so? It is because of its attitude, moves like ridiculing me. And whose speed is suitable to follow, easy to catch. However, I cannot see any in my territory these days. Maybe they all ran away, recognized my wisdom and dexterity. Of course, I’m a big girl who had 15th birthday yesterday. The same as mom’s mom? It doesn’t matter. You are my mom, I am your girl. Purr … purrr …

敬老の日, Respect-for-Elderly Day is set on the 3rd Monday of September. Mei-Shun bought a bouquet for mom-in-law with one of her favorite autumn flower 吾亦紅. We can see them at sunny mountainside or highland including 草津 where her mom stays once a month. She always tells her younger daughter that they are easy to grow in the garden, yet has never heard her success.
Mei-Shun found a tiny God whose baby clothes seen above an offering box of the nearest shrine. So he/she might come to celebrate Mei-Shun’s mother whose 77th birthday is today. On the other hand, her younger daughter is encouraged to do more: her omikuji lot showed 末吉=sue-kichi, the least lucky. That white lily has grown into double size, carrying a lot of buds. They seemed to say “don’t worry”.

Your mother often tells Mei-Shun about the night you were born. “It was raining,” she says. “Every expecting mother at the hospital felt like delivering a baby one after another.” Mystery of life, it really sounds. And it is also said to be the best day to start practice of kabuki or noh, including Japanese dance of course. It might be why his wife is attracted by this form of art.

She must be very careful to remain in her current condition for at least one month before going further.
みほし会 headed by Master Bando performed yesterday at 浅草公会堂, Tokyo. Everyone made Mei-Shun happy for seeing him/her successful on the stage. And yes, she felt a little envy as well — she could have joined them if only her master was in good health. According to an omikuji lot she drew this morning, it is better not to stick to the past. Her mindset must be changed to turn sorrow to pleasure.

According to her advice, it survives well on the ground after blossom. It would join white beauty of 姫空木, lily bell and 雪柳 or snowy willow recently planted in our garden by mom-in-law.
