We have 清明=seimei, 5th of spring and whole 二十四節気. It means atmosphere around me, dad and mom turns into clear and flowery, just like today — rain continued for a few days finally stopped, blue sky appears embracing warm sunshine, purr. Mom drove Ms. Scarlet toward Tsukuba horsey riding club, danced with Mr. Marumorita. She found nice numbers at home, took grand pleasure in dad’s souvenir from 函館.

Mei-Shun is looking for tea shops where flavorsome green tea is available. Since the nearest and her favorite one was closed, she tried another nearby with lovely cats — yet their tea itself did not suit her palate. Gentle Shin knows it, brought home a bag from 静岡, our biggest prefecture in that agricultural product. Hmm, it seems to be processed by machines, not hands. That does not matter to deliciousness.
Mei-Shun is quite pleased to resume one of her weight-control methods from today. A whole week saw gum under that poor molar stop bleeding, let dental floss safely go back and forth. She has held off on titled sweets for 2 weeks, while helped much by bonbons aux chocolats purchased for Professor A — he had another appointment when she handed the same box to Prof. M.
It started from around 13 : 00 yesterday. Early morning sounded a slight rainfall, would have made many people including mother of Mei-Shun pleased. Shin went out on Ms. Moon instead of Ms. Scarlet driven by his wife, parked the former nearby the station. Although it was Doll’s Festival, not a holiday that commuters were not allowed to enjoy 白酒=white sake liquor for above celebration.
Mei-Shun shared lunch time with M-chan. Another nice coffee shop is located within University of Tsukuba campus, informed by gentle Professor M, the best moon photographer. 梅=ume plum blossom is often featured in February, here as well by 梅珈琲. Well, still a bit sore throat for the elder, their choice preferred milder drink, soup, bread and dessert.
We would see 十三夜=13th moon, the 2nd beautiful next to full tonight. It also means birthday of Mei-Shun on lunar calendar. She therefore prepared a bottle of Madeira wine Shin kindly ordered for her solar day. Actually, the other they opened first had a cork so dry that broke into liquid. “We should have laid them”, he said. However, she coughs too hard to enjoy alcohol.
Mei-Shun enjoys 七草粥 celebrating lunar January 7th tonight. It is quite easy to cook thanks to a freeze-dried package of 7 wild vegetables — she just asked her diligent rice cooker to make porridge, added above ingredient in a serving bowl. 月餅= moon cake from Chinatown in Yokohama would accompany her supper alone, while Shin turned to Nagoya leaving this souvenir.
Above is a friend of my breed dad saw in Madeira Island. I and mom do not know what his business is, while imagine it might be related to a wine produced there. He ordered 2 bottles of it for mom the other day, in a good combination with her birthday cake Galette des Roi. Hmm, he/she looks like that pie whose fève was finally found in the last piece this year.

This is the day for me and mom to visit “Arles”. However, we already did it with dad driving Ms. Scarlet on Monday, picked up a Galette des Rois as mom’s birthday cake. We enjoy it, yet nobody has won a fève so far. That is why I wear a golden crown as a temporary queen who reign our family. On the other paw of mine, he departs for Portugal from tonight.
