It is too windy for Mei-Shun to go out today, to hang and dry futon outdoors either. Actually, she lost 2 futon pinchers the other day when similar weather locked her up indoors. Heavier mats looked enough to stay, yet one for the wife was blown down onto the ground in a second. Oh, a young apple tree mom-in-law planted last year was safe. So were you of course, Mademoiselle Vert.

Sweet Scent
StandardHere they are, 蝋梅=robai flowers. Mei-Shun is really happy to see them bloom safely, never eaten up all by birds like the year before last. Her mother grew several young trees from fallen seeds, let her younger daughter choose the healthiest one. And it is mother-in-law of the latter who plant it at the best place of our garden. Good leaves protect their fragrant yellow.
Flowers Flourish
StandardHere is Mademoiselle Vert, growing a stalk day by day. Mei-Shun also found 蝋梅 in our garden hides some buds opening a little among still green leaves. She would like to display an image of the latter soon, while could not take any photo today — closed at home by stormy weather. Although we had 大雪=tai-setsu, the 3rd of winter 二十四節気 yesterday, it seems to be warmer than such snowing.
Double Dress
StandardOur backyard gingko puts it on this year. Partly yellowed, still kept green in many leaves. Since he was cut half in height, they seem to get bigger. His root has experienced no change, might acts like before. Total size including outfit and body would be almost the same. That is what Mei-Shun thought about him, only himself knows the truth. Or could you kind connoisseurs give her detailed information?
Warm Washing
StandardYes, rainfall did on Ms. Scarlet, our garden and Mei-Shun’s throat. It is nice to have a cold month begin by such mild weather, isn’t it? Well, well, that was her idea around midnight. This morning saw a roaring storm instead, made it dark like dusk. It gave a harsh shower on Shin and his wife when they got on the red car, with the latter eagerly curled her hair last night.
Big Bin
StandardYes, Mei-Shun washed it up. Plum liquor was stored within for 8 years, always made her feel relaxed. It was Shin who picked fruits of a rare, wild plum called 皆平早生=kaidare-wase grown in a mountainous forest in Wakayama Prefecture. Quite small in size compared to normal ones, yet thinner peel gives soft texture. She moved left delicacy into 2 smaller bottles, toward a refrigerator.
Pretty Posture
StandardMeow, we have 寒露=kanro, the 5th of autumnal 二十四節気 today. It means that dewdrops would be frozen in cold air, yet it seems all different. Room temperature keeps a bit below 30 degrees Celsius in daytime, above 20 all through the night. Mom told me that a beautiful 3rd crescent welcomed her at the nearest station, where she picked dad up in the evening.

Perfect Preparation?
StandardThis is the end of Mei-Shun’s second-poorest month. With a powerful typhoon approaching Kanto Area, she implemented two jobs quite rare for her. One is to wash horsey items at home, a gel pad and a fly hat. The other is to remove paper from 1 of 3 bedroom 障子=shoji sliding doors, several years older than other 2. Now Ms. Dandelion or Mindulle, she is all ready to face you tomorrow.
Japanese Culture@holiday
StandardWe have 秋分=shu-bun, autumnal equinox today. Mei-Shun misses mother’s handmade o-hagi, while a bit shocked by the same plant in our garden. Mom-in-law is a wonderful manager, yet sometimes turns into a potent branch-cutter. Bushclover is quite a strong breed, often looked blooming twice an year around here in Ibaraki. Or many gardeners give it a chance to work out.
Burly Beauty
StandardMei-Shun found a white lily blooming on the very edge of shrubbery at the nearest station. Hi, great to see you, who seems similar breed to the ones she missed in 日先=Hino-Saki Shrine garden last month. Do you prefer narrow space? Or strong enough to survive in such a place, that is the better answer. She is looking forward to your sister buds open soon.
