They are called 黄金桃 meaning golden peach, literally put on coats in the bright color. And once you peel one, reddish shade is seen on juicy skin. Now, several more days are necessary for the best taste.
Congratulations! Although Mei-Shun’s mother is not interested in longevity, her daughters are so happy to see her get along toward 喜寿=kiju, the age of joy. The younger visited her place today, enjoyed chatting on lunch. “If I could live here until 米寿=beiju, 88 years old, please do not hesitate to celebrate it”, she joked. Well, eleven years will make both of your daughters elderly as well.
Shin kindly drove again to let Mei-Shun see wide view of lotus field. Since Ibaragi Prefecture is the biggest grower of 蓮根, renkon or lotus root, you are able to enjoy that gorgeous flower all around 霞ヶ浦 in summer. Oh, among white ones found a few pink petals. Some have already made seeds which look like shower heads. On the way to home, they dropped in following ancient grave 三昧塚古墳.
Our national broadcasting said this morning that authorities in charge may punish companies if they would not let employees take at least 5 paid holidays per year. Well, from similar viewpoint, Shin seems fine to be off from Thursday afternoon to yesterday — while on business today, when obon vacation starts for normal workers. Mei-Shun therefore understands it came earlier.
They seem to like early, sultry summer of this year: the third couple visited Shin and Mei-Shun. Oh, what a lovely ornament you put on! Is it handmade of your producer? Nice idea to help them wait for a while to enjoy gist of you two. Beauty in looks means taste of the same, at least for fresh fruits. It has taken longer time to ripe than their predecessors, yet the result was just incredible.
Mei-Shun found a tiny God whose baby clothes seen above an offering box of the nearest shrine. So he/she might come to celebrate Mei-Shun’s mother whose 77th birthday is today. On the other hand, her younger daughter is encouraged to do more: her omikuji lot showed 末吉=sue-kichi, the least lucky. That white lily has grown into double size, carrying a lot of buds. They seemed to say “don’t worry”.
Shin and Mei-Shun met at one of their favorite Japanese cuisine restaurant for lunch today. The biggest reason why the wife asked a favor of the husband follows below — grilled sweetfish. She would like to have it with him at least once in July, when fishing of this delicacy starts from the beginning. Oh, how dynamic it looks accompanied by 蓼酢=tade-su, herb-flavored vinegar.

Mei-Shun went to 高輪, Tokyo for a haircut. She actually has two hairdressers; one a woman who manages a saloon taking her 5 minutes walk from home, while another a man she enjoyed an excursion of one hour and a half on train to visit today. Both have excellent technique; with the former in charge of maintenance and sometimes makeup advice, the latter styling.
