We have 処暑=shosho, the 2nd of autumnal 二十四節気 today. It is said heat would soon be cooled down, while sultry air still stays around us. On the other hand, it gives Mei-Shun an impression that singing guys are not so many this year: almost none flew onto our screen windows. Preferring shady woods like the nearest shrine, they might already feel the next season.
Mei-Shun found above 棗=jujube blooming. Tiny flowers in light green are difficult to see from a distance, yet she noticed them thanks to rice — water used to wash it is kept in an old kettle shaped like an orange (or helpful Mikan-chan). Then it works as a nutritive fertilizer, spread onto plants in our garden. Not only feeding many of us, this great staple food also grows tasty fruits.
It was a bit cloudy this morning. Mei-Shun therefore sang with Ms. Piano scores composed by Masters Debussy and Beethoven as usual. And yes, her forecast was correct: a rainfall followed from early afternoon. However, when she said thanks a lot for giving her a nice time, a page of the former suddenly fell on keys. Cherry trees covered with petals only are almost over, replaced by wilder breed. She prefers it to more artificial ones, enjoying young leaves and flowers at the same time. This place also accommodates white blossom to light pink.
We have 春分=shunbun, vernal equinox and the 4th of spring 二十四節気 today. Momo-chan, garden princess at Mei-Shun’s home, started to bloom last week. Thanks to warmer-than-usual temperature, she has already put on 80% of her kimono in bright pink. Please do not dance too fast, Your Highness. The later 100% follows, the more it would be appreciated.
Here is Princess Cymby with two bouquets. Mei-Shun feels really happy to see them grow day by day, while elder one already has a bud change into yellow from green. You take nearly a whole month to bloom, honey, who remind her of a decade before — sister Kasumi, another 名取 student of beloved Master Mei-Shu, kindly gave you to her after performing 島の千歳.
