Hello Mr. Tea Time, looking so cute as usual, while a hair accessory on your forehead lost one of rhinestones. It would be a great pleasure of Mei-Shun to change it into another already prepared. Listen, Antwerp, the city of jewelry, brought her the best choice of emerald ring via Shin. Their couple of clear and green gemstones would therefore wait a bit more to become a pair of earrings.

Leap Year
StandardSo 2020 is, since we are in 子=ne, mouse of Chinese zodiac or 干支=eto. Others are 辰=tatsu, dragon and申=saru, monkey years come in every 4 years. Mei-Shun was born in the latter, lucky to have one more day at the end of this month. And one of the most interesting matters for her is that above three animals are small-large-medium in size respectively.
Look Like?
StandardFollowing below is a new teapot Mei-Shun purchased at her favorite shop. Its handle is put like a teacup, 90 degrees less angle compared to normal 180 toward spout. That makes it compact enough to save shelf space, while never allows her to pour by right hand only. She cannot but support the bottom by left hand covered with an oven mitten. Please keep safe such a thin arm, honey.
Dry Promptly
StandardHere are pink roses Shin gave Mei-Shun on her birthday. Beauty lasts short — it is very difficult to keep them fresh. One week seems to be the limit to let them stay on soaked sponge, from her experience. She should not hesitate to pull them out of the silver pot. If hung upside-down in time, they would not so much change both in shape and color. Returning to the throne, their longer life of princess starts.
Just Thankful
StandardMei-Shun sometimes wonders if she can exactly express her gratitude to Shin, yet please let her say that his generosity, patience and … love is profoundly appreciated as always. Beautiful bouquet full of her favorite colors, too heavy to hold in a silver pot representing their 25th anniversary. Cool helmet for horsey riding with velvet surface and Swarovski stones. Lovely 簪, a kimono accessory coated by Japanese lacquer.
X’mas Together
StandardThey have joined Shin and Mei-Shun’s place recently. Titled “Blue Bins”, a lovely girl with her hair bound in a chignon looks at you. She might be a princess of a castle within one of these bottles. Thank you for coming out of it. Could you save eyes of your new family? On the other hand, he/she has not yet had any name, born within Kaori-san‘s world to represent a drop of water.
Friendly Lunch
StandardMei-Shun went to 吉祥寺, Tokyo to meet with Kaori-san. Since they could not chat enough in Kyoto last month, fixed an appointment on today to fill their tea cups of satisfaction. Although both of them had a slight cold, they gave energy one another by shopping around, nice meal and lemon squash. The former is mainly in charge of listening while the latter speaking.
Still Hard
Standard… to eat they are. Mei-Shun’s elder sister kindly send a box of pears the other day. It takes a long time to ripe, let her wait with watering mouth. On the other hand, our backyard gingko suddenly turned yellow. She cleaned half of the eastern balcony while just prepared to do another. Nearly an hour later, here are prettier ones spread on “令”, kanji of 2019.
Joy at Kyoto: 3
StandardEvery place is packed with sightseers especially in spring and autumn here, yet not so much in early morning. Shin and Mei-Shun strolled along 鴨川=Kamogawa River, enjoyed beautiful foliage of maple, gingko and cherry trees. Oh, lovely birds are on breakfast, including wild ducks, herons and a couple of kite. Why don’t they join them before heading for Merry-go-round to see Kaori-san?
2nd in 2019
Standard酉の市=tori-no-ichi is not a market in the Italian city, yet a festival held on the Cock days of Chinese zodiac in November. Instead of grilled or fried chickens, sold are decorated rakes whose size ranging from your hand to whole body. It is said to be derived from harvest celebration by residents nearby a big shrine named after 大酉 or 鳳 =oh-tori, an imaginary animal.
