How Pleasant

Standard

Sakura, cherry on Mei-Shun’s obi sash tonight. Cymbidium ladies still kept fresh. Momo-chan, our garden princess looks to be in a hurry to dance (please don’t, honey). In spite of red arrows on today’s weather forecast map, they are all calm in a breeze. Hi, Mikan-chan, are these flowers too warm to take a nap under? Mom would be happy to accompany you on crisps.

Many Other

Standard

冨貴寄 is sold, Mei-Shun found for the first time. After visiting her mother’s home, she dropped in 遊中川, a nice shop of Japanese arts and crafts located in Ueno Station. They display round cans named all the same as ones from 菊廼舎. Well, “fu-ki-yo-se” sounds like our verb to mean “blow together”. It just makes sense to call assorted rice crackers, candies and cookies so.

Tulip babies assorted by mom-in-law.

3 Cold Days,

Standard

4 warm days, we say to mean spring coming to and fro. However, it seems to be changed into “2 sunny days, 1 rainy day” at least for this year. Cold drops have prevented Mei-Shun from finding backyard plum already bloomed in white, with pink flowers still in buds. Yes, that chimerical branch grown on a snowy tree. How are your friends on Mt. Tsukuba going right now?

Beauty Ever

Standard

So Mei-Shun had her lunar birthday yesterday. She is quite satisfied with success in bringing the gift from Shin longevity; dried via “parasols”, salmon pink and orange color in 35 fresh roses almost kept. Or stronger yellow shade from nearby princesses, making them more chic. However, she is too careless to pass by safely. Please let her say sorry and pick up petals still giving sweet scent.

Tea Time

Standard

Oh, not regarding you, handsome boy. It was served at a beauty saloon the other day when Mei-Shun visited there for hair dye. A piece of cake has accompanied it years before, yet it is not for her in sweets austerity right now. Instead of snack full of sugar, she chooses nuts, popcorn and dried fruits; half-handmade trail mix between classes in the afternoon.

Prompt Lady

Standard

You really are, Princess Cymby. It was just 5 days before when you bloomed the first flower. Now Mei-Shun sees other 10 flowers in full — an amazing sight. First, second, third twins, fifth, sixth, seventh twins, ninth and tenth twins. It took so speedy that loosened buds followed elder sisters one after another in a day. All of them therefore resemble each other, thanks to such celerity.

Full Moon

Standard

She is so beautiful tonight, looks a bit powerful than usual. Listen, Shin’s birthday gift to Mei-Shun was too gorgeous to keep freshness for a long time. It was Saturday when she purchased these laundry circles to dry them, just a week after they arrived at her hands as an arrangement. Please help them to stay alive in good shade, while the couple to enjoy it as long as possible.

Day by Day

Standard

Just several days made Shin’s gift to Mei-Shun bloom into full. It has become clear to the latter why they keep leaves-only space among roses. With size of each flower doubled, green provides a kind of relief for watchers. “It does not matter to me,” sounds Princess Cymby who finally opened one of buds. Her beauty comes not only from complete balance of color but also the long time she has taken so far.

Happy Party

Standard

Thank you so much, Shin, for your never-to-change mind toward Mei-Shun. Hi, Mikan-chan, you like these roses as well? Shade between salmon pink and orange, flower bowl in your coat color while showing their coming wedding anniversary, the husband completely made it. And oh, the wife won the “fève” in her annual pie. Let her put on a golden crown to be today’s queen.

Not Snow

Standard

… yet it looks to have been hailing toward sunrise. When Mei-Shun opened western shutter this morning to check front glass of Ms. scarlet, she saw fine and white dots here and there. It has been dry these days, all changed from rainy December. Frozen drops are spread on cars, fences, field and our ornamental cabbage whose formal name is brassica oleracea var. acephala f. tricolor!!!
