Flower, Bird,

Wind and Moon represent seasonal beauty in our country. Maybe because it was too torrid this summer, titled two seem trying to repair themselves in recent cool weather. For example, pheasant guys often come out of bushes to sing. Trees bloom or grow new leaves to nourish from branches to trunks. Please take care, since we have 立冬=ritto, the first of winter 二十四節気 today.

Pink Celebration?

Standard

It is blissful for Mei-Shun to see many “red rice” flowers along a lane to the shrine. Even in such vivid color, plants always look graceful — really enviable. Another lady in the same shade to surprise us is Momo-chan, our garden princess. She gives two flowers this autumn! It has never happened so far, while reminds the writer of a wild cherry who also bloomed twice an year at University of Tsukuba.

Let’s Look Up

Standard

Here is an enormous oak tree we see at 日先神社. Mei-Shun admires it so much, makes it a rule to give honorable greeting after Gods in the main building. Stone lanterns with a crescent on one face, while a full moon on the other, are also photogenic enough to catch her eyes. At the bottom of one lilies flourish, increasing year by year. Gingko tree would soon change his green coat into bright yellow.

Instead of strolling around in the morning, a concierge recommended Shin and Mei-Shun to go up to the top floor where no guest stayed by chance. Compared to the 2nd floor for them, 5th was over the top of woods with Mt. Zao shining in morning light on eastern face, whose glow of foliage in the middle of autumn would be wonderful only to imagine.

13th Moon

Standard

Thanks to an autumnal clear sky, we could see 十三夜, the second most beautiful moon last night. Mei-Shun celebrated it by playing scores composed by Master Debussy and Beethoven featuring moonlight. She also would like to receive such magical power as much as possible, kept all shutters facing the south open while going outdoors. Oh, here comes sweetest silver coat. Welcome to share it with mom.

敬老の日, Respect-for-Elderly Day is set on the 3rd Monday of September. Mei-Shun bought a bouquet for mom-in-law with one of her favorite autumn flower 吾亦紅. We can see them at sunny mountainside or highland including 草津 where her mom stays once a month. She always tells her younger daughter that they are easy to grow in the garden, yet has never heard her success.

Pink Messenger

Our bush clover says that autumn has come. Even if the slamming typhoon left torrid air of summer for a while, we feel much cooler in the morning and at night. Mei-Shun therefore decided to resume daily exercise including perspiration outdoors. She has been getting along with her diet: 15 weeks have passed since she stepped into weight range called plumpy by herself.

End of Summer

Oh, how cute you are! Shin told Mei-Shun months before that he ordered her favorite fruit, yet the wife has waited for too long a time to keep such a happy information in mind. They are called 黄金桃 meaning golden peach, literally put on coats in the bright color. And once you peel one, reddish shade is seen on juicy skin. Now, several more days are necessary for the best taste.

Shin kindly drove again to let Mei-Shun see wide view of lotus field. Since Ibaragi Prefecture is the biggest grower of 蓮根, renkon or lotus root, you are able to enjoy that gorgeous flower all around 霞ヶ浦 in summer. Oh, among white ones found a few pink petals. Some have already made seeds which look like shower heads. On the way to home, they dropped in following ancient grave 三昧塚古墳.

Moon Missed

… in full shape, on Saturday when the atypical typhoon Jongdari hit Japanese Archipelago. It went from east to west, just opposite to normal, still continues to walk above southern Kyushu. However, cautious preparation in Kansai area worked very well this time, makes Mei-Shun feel relieved. We and Mars would be able to enjoy our propinquity tonight in clear sky.
