You are really meant by name, darling. Mei-Shun rode him for the first time, shocked a little for almost nothing she could do. She and another student on out-of-reach horsey had to stay at the center of a rectangle field we practice within while other “couples” were trotting. It was found later that Ever is friendly toward the same species, never wild. Oh, cherry blossom, thanks a million to soothe her mind with such a beauty.

White Elegance
StandardFollowing magnolia, 雪柳=yuki-nanagi, literally snowy willow began to bloom. Now much of our attention is on 染井吉野 cherry blossom, Mei-Shun prefers 大島桜. Each flower of the latter is a bit bigger than the former, color of petal is all white. She loves white flowers including roses, tulips and 萩=hagi, bushclover. Lotuses are added on this list after she visited 熱川 on weekend.
Spring Messengers
StandardPheasant, Chinese partridge and bush warbler started to sing for their lovers. Cherry trees began to loosen their buds. Mei-Shun cooked a 筍=takenoko, young bamboo by herself for the first time. She found that 乙戸沼 Park also accommodates white magnolia trees arranged like a big one full of fist-size flowers by the pond. Narcissus blooms one after another under our garden princess.
Lunar March
StandardYes, it starts from today. That might be why our garden princess gave her first bloom. It is so interesting that the more distant a bud is from the trunk, the sooner it blooms. That makes her look like putting on a melon kimono from the bottom. Now it gets dark, your mother would play piano in moonlight scores to help you — we do not have it in the sky tonight.
New Friend
StandardWhen Mei-Shun walked out of a short tunnel between rice paddy, she found a tree full of white flowers shining on the green hill which accommodates the nearest shrine. It is magnolia, still in buds. Since she started walking exercise from the end of April last year, it has not been recognized so far. She is so happy to see the roster of sacred guardians augmented again.
Still Sleepy
StandardOur garden princess looks making her buds bigger and more fluffy. When you take a careful look at them, baby petals are found within silver coverings. Their color is … oh? Melon means not only a name of fruit but “bright pink”? How amazing and interesting it is to see another sense in a common word! Anyway, we are expecting her gorgeous performance in full bloom soon.
Let’s Go Out
Standard東山魁夷(=Higashi-yama Kai-i) is one of favorite artists for Shin, Mei-Shun and her late father. Since his works on fusuma, paper sliding door of 唐招提寺 are exhibited at a museum in Mito, they planned to drive there today expecting less crowd. Oh? you have a TV conference from noon? Hum, it is the first of four-day off for him. He would be allowed to do as likened, yet half tomorrow followed by none on Sunday.
Last Twins
StandardThey are unrecognizable — which one is the last princess? A bit bigger each flower looks compared to their elder sisters. Mei-Shun feels so happy to serve for such beauty, while with a slight concern. We grew two mimosa trees in the garden, loved their fluffy flowers in light yellow. However, both of them were blown down by storm after blooming the best …

Mei-Shun Meets Princess Cymby
Awful Assignment
StandardShin has the worst symptom of hay disease today. Waking up early in the morning, he asked Mei-Shun to let him sleep on the sofa for a while. At 7:00, he gave up going out and returned to the bed. A sudden day off makes his wife a nurse, mother and secretary. Of course she works hard, yet never happy to. Oh, beautiful 十三夜 moon, thank you so much for your heart-purifying coming up.
Japanese Culture@wkday
StandardMei-Shun walked to the nearest shrine as usual. She heard a pheasant guy call his partner on the way, for the first time of this year. How nice to see you again! … oh, not really because she could not catch him in sight. They are so good at hide-and-seek games, make us human beings ever losers. No problem, you kindly tell us that we are in the middle of spring with 啓蟄=keichitsu, the third of spring 二十四節気 yesterday.
