Shin and Mei-Shun visited 熱川 yesterday to see the only Amazonian manatee kept in our country. Net news said he is around 50 years old, came to a botanical garden there in 1969 yet has no name so far. Oh, we cannot call such a cute creature? Voice of his fans lead to public soliciting of his nickname. We have to appear in person to cast our ballots? All right, we would love to.

Still Sleepy
StandardOur garden princess looks making her buds bigger and more fluffy. When you take a careful look at them, baby petals are found within silver coverings. Their color is … oh? Melon means not only a name of fruit but “bright pink”? How amazing and interesting it is to see another sense in a common word! Anyway, we are expecting her gorgeous performance in full bloom soon.
Light Ladies
StandardMaria is snowy white. Hentil is chestnut brown. When they are selected for lessons, Mei-Shun feels happy while a bit exhausted thinking about treatment of her buffer — it is navy. Many of our horseies including Madoka-chan are normal or dark brown, which requires easy wiping. She plans to purchase horsey tools little by little in orange, chocolate brown and navy. Her next target has been a gel pad or fake fur buffer, yet another buffer in lighter color might be necessary.
After Party
StandardMom-in-law recently gave up her driver’s license. That means she got off from our chauffeur list. Mei-Shun, who enjoyed good German beer and wine tonight, therefore employed 代行さん= daiko-san meaning substitute drivers for the first time. She does not want anyone other than family members to drive her own car, while mom-in-law’s is now free and looks lonely. Why don’t she utilize him? This idea worked well with kind staffs, reasonable price and safe coming home.
Step by Step
StandardOur “backyard” plum or ume has started to bloom little by little. White ones come earlier than pink, yet both buds in the same red, shining in sunlight. You can enjoy many of them along a lane to our horse riding club, patched with rice paddy. Mei-Shun’s partner today was 英二=Ei-ji, lovely chestnut-brown boy rarely named in Chinese characters. Why these boys and guys, including you, like to make fun of her by chewing saddle buffers or her riding vest?
Gallop, Gallop
StandardThanks a million, Amazones. Your name sounds like a woman fighter, while never you are and called Ama-chan, meaning a sweetheart or beginner in Japanese. Since it is a trial lesson to go up to the next class, an instructor helps each student in a circle course using leading ropes set on horseis’ shoulders. Tutorial DVDs say that it is much speedier than looks, it really was. Mei-Shun recognized how enormous the pressure was when she found her eyes quite congested, hands stiff.
Joy of Sweets
StandardShin’s 干支=eto, Chinese zodiac symbol is 酉=tori, rooster celebrated in current year. That is why Mei-Shun ordered ささらがた=sasaragata and 冨貴寄=fukiyose featuring 酉 respectively. Her custom to give the latter to 年女 or 年男=toshi-onna/otoko friends and family members started three years ago. 2014 was 午=uma, horse year in which her elder sister was born. On the other hand, it was Professor S who served the former when Mei-Shun visited her home for the first time.
Enjoy Ever
StandardMei-Shun has picked up some from countless flowers Shin gave her so far. Many opportunities including her performance on stage, their wedding anniversary at Christmas and her birthday replenish her blissful arms with gorgeous bouquets and arrangements. Middle-sized roses are relatively suitable to dry for preservation, with recent best following below in bright orange. Since they bowed immediately in spite of watering, Mei-Shun hung them in headstand position for a while.
Protect U
StandardThey are for horseies, longer ones attached to forefeet while shorter ones to rear. Mei-Shun ordered them via net shopping as お年玉=otosidama, meaning new-year gift for herself. She is ready to purchase such items little by little. Rental gears are available for free at our club, yet her favorite colors and designs are much better. Her dream is to own a horse in the future, at home if possible. Shin loves them as well, would be happy to take care of him/her or — them.
Happy Riding
StandardToday’s lesson was the last of this year for Mei-Shun. Thank you, Madoka-chan. She has learned so much from you. Image of the first day they met with each other is still clear in her mind: you were so shy that never let her see your front face. Ms. I, your main “mom” in our club always had to prepare something tasty to lead you out of the stall. It is once upon a time for you, smart girl? And to you as well, dear Dreamer. It is a kind of surprise luck to see you again after 10 months.
