Lingering Summer

Standard

Today’s highest temperature in Ibaraki was just a bit lower than 33 degrees Celsius. Yes, September is such a month these days. Most of Mei-Shun’s generation, sometimes called 昭和人=Showa-jin, people born in our previous era, remember clearer boundaries between four seasons 2 decades before. Maybe affected by global warming, recent summers appear to reside with us until winters approach just nearby. So does next-door 百日紅=saru-suberi, serving Mei-Shun a gift in eyes.

Night Lotus

Standard

Shin and Mei-Shun visited 水郷 Park. They found that it is one of “Poké-Sta.” since there were many people walking around with their smart phones in hand. The former looked happy to play on his own while the latter was more interested in flowers around them. She had believed that they slept at night, yet some of these lotuses bloomed in lovely pink. Or mischievous monsters might ask them to provide good hiding places.

Enjoy Yamanashi

昇仙峡, Shosenkyo is one of the most beautiful places Mei-Shun recommend you to visit. White, uniquely shaped rocks give wonderful contrast with clean, emerald water especially in winter followed by simmering hoto. It is a miso stew with various vegetables including pumpkin, Japanese white radish, carrot, leak, etc. while meat and hoto noodle. We found it nice in summer as well with egg plant, cucumber, tomato and okra today.

Sweetfish

Standard

鮎, ayu tastes the best from June to August. Mei-Shun has a propensity for it, asked Shin to arrange a lunch date at their favorite Japanese food restaurant in Shinagawa. They know well what she covets, serving a course featuring grilled one. This genuine delicacy is edible from top of head to edge of tail, except for white-salted fins. Oh, rainy season is over in Kanto area. Thank you so much for bringing real summer to us.

Wise Lady

Standard

You really are, Madoka-chan. You seem to memorize Mei-Shun as a mom of refreshment — when she visits you with a box of cut carrots, apples or horse cookies in hand, your eyes begin to shine while your lips open and close like requesting a kiss. However, once you find her without anything tasty, you turn the back to her soon. This ball-point-pen says exactly what one of your moms feel right now.

Kaori’s Children

Standard

Mei-Shun Collection has accumulated 4 lovely artworks by Ms. KOGASHIWA, Kaori. It seems versatile greens represent them followed by black, orange and blue. Little messenger of stories always puts on black and stands by green. This girl in profile named Elba-san likes to dance, eat and lie down. Where would you like to stay? Do not worry about suntan, glasses coated with UV protection covers all of you.

Nice to See U

Standard

Hello, Madoka-chan. Please make sure of Mei-Shun as one of your fostered mothers. We would start from walking together to washing place where we treat, prepare and release your harness. You have to learn first to stay calm here. Oh, do not say to go home after 5 minutes. Let’s make your patience longer little by little, while this mom make her preparation time shorter.

Chestnut Flower

Standard

When they bloom to give that sweet and heavy scent, Mei-Shun feels rainy season reaches us soon. The shrine she pays a visit on her walking way seems to accommodate several trees with yellowish white tails. It was cooler this morning, let her recognize them after perspiration.

Gi-ya-man

Standard

It means glasses in Japanese, coming from “diamant” in Dutch. He is a lovely boy with a pinch of mischievous flavor. An upside-down v letter appears when we part his mane hair on the forehead. Honey, did you leave another v somewhere in the field? Normal stars are in round or diamond shape, much more you have the very name of the latter.

New Friends

Standard

They have joined into the picture Mei-Shun enjoys in the morning. Green touch increases day by day, makes it straight toward summer. It is so nice to see rice paddies grow to feed many birds, and us finally in autumn.
