It is no easy to avoid mistakes in playing piano. Touching wrong keys is out of question for professional pianists, while sounds uncomfortable to normal ears. What is the most important to enjoy beautiful flow of tones? Correct reading of scores seems the first. Picking up parts difficult to play smoothly would follow for concentrated practice.

Joy of Dancing
StandardMei-Shun finished learning how to dance Suisen-Tanzen today. Since it has been superficial so far, the role of a night butterfly in transient loves must be soaked into dancer’s limbs and mind from now. She has only three months and a half left before the stage performance. Practice, practice and practice would continue.
After 14 Wks
StandardSigh of relief again. This is the 4th visit to the hospital to see Dr. A after Mei-Shun left there. However, another sigh is for her plan of diet, which miserably failed so far. It is awful. Obesity is a kind of disease. All the same for the plump, or even worse because they tend to take themselves still approved to be healthy. Such an idea already looks unhealthy, doesn’t it?
Lazy Days
StandardRainy days makes you feel like doing nothing, don’t they? Sleepy anytime, slow for anything. And that makes Mei-Shun put on bigger tire around her waist … ohhh, she must escape from such a vicious circle as soon as possible.
Lesson Resumed
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun the first lesson after the latter left hospital. Three-month intermission does not seem too long to get their concentration back. Fine perspiration. We love Japanese dance, the best and admirable art.
Monthly Visit
StandardDr. A told Mei-Shun that she would like to see her every month for a while. There is no reason to say no – one month seems a good timing for a hospital “graduate” to take care of him/herself. One goal per month would be set up.
Hard to Diet
StandardMei-Shun has lost weight during her hospitalization, partly thanks to healthy, ever-ready-to-eat meals. Since she gained permission to go home, however, it has got a bit difficult to diet; she has to prepare everything to eat by herself …
Last Lesson
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun the last lesson of this year today. We talked about the next-year performance, laughed by an ogre*. Mei-Shun would like to play “Shio-Kumi” – a kind of challenge, claiming her best effort.
*“When we talk about next year, ogres would laugh at it” is a saying to tease unexpected, out-of-reach dreams.
Tire around Waist
StandardMei-Shun must have gained a weight after the performance. She clearly knows why – by eating too much. Mountains of tasty fruits and refreshments were shared in the waiting room; we brought home rest of them. A big box of her favorite cookies arrived. Oseki-han (=steamed rice with red bean) was waiting for her. Now, ten days have passed. Time to restart controlling herself!
