So this is the end of 2021, the last weekday and report on cat, dance, piano, etc. from Mei-Shun. They taught her a lot through an year as usual:

Mei-Shun took the year-end lesson from Master Bando today. She dropped in her favorite tea shop to purchase; green tea for herself, 和紅茶=normal tea grown in our country and ほうじ茶=roasted green tea for the master and Ms. S. The latter lady gave this 名取 several 柚子=yuzu and sweets. Oh, a phone message from a kimono cleaning shop was found at home.
Mei-Shun is cordially grateful to let you kind 451 followers know that she enjoyed above delicacy at 友部 last weekend. Well, her rule in weight control is to do so mainly on Fridays — after checking numbers on a scale, coming back home from her horsey riding club. However, last Thursday gave her the title while forced Shin to stay in Tokyo. That made both ends meet.
Shin and Mei-Shun dropped in famous 笠間稲荷神社 before visiting a pottery shop serving soba noodle as well, yet opens at 11 : 00. They wake up early in the morning even on weekends, got on Ms. Scarlet around 8 : 00. The husband always has a clear schedule; visit 三昧塚古墳 first, then turn to 友部, one of rest areas on 常磐 Motorway to satisfy the wife who craved for a soft serve.
Our backyard gingko puts it on this year. Partly yellowed, still kept green in many leaves. Since he was cut half in height, they seem to get bigger. His root has experienced no change, might acts like before. Total size including outfit and body would be almost the same. That is what Mei-Shun thought about him, only himself knows the truth. Or could you kind connoisseurs give her detailed information?
… yet less material would be better. Mei-Shun visited Master Bando as usual today, chatted a little before lesson. When Ms. S joined them, above lady told her new students about 御中元 and 御歳暮 meaning summer and year-end gifts. “Thanks a lot for your care of me,” she started. “However, to be honest, I cannot consume all sweets and bathroom items living alone. Could you please forget it hereafter?”
Meow, mom got up and took care of me in this early morning, said good-day to dad downstairs and went to bedroom after breakfast. What’s going on? She usually stays in the living room with me sleeping on the sofa. My activity for water, restroom and patrol thus started sooner. Hi, how are you covered within futon blanket? You are allowed to take a rest of course, please just keep me fed on time.

It is called いい夫婦の日=Day of Good Couple today, reading 1-1-2-2 in our language. We also have 小雪=sho-setsu, 2nd of winter 二十四節気 meaning it still snows a little, while rains much by chance. Mei-Shun feels like sipping warmed sake at such a night, yet 奈良萬=nara-man from Fukushima tastes better after cooled in a freezer. She therefore would cook hot, boiling dishes for dinner.
Shin brought home delicacies again, from Miyazaki Prefecture on business. Above bottle of shochu, distilled sake is famous called Hyakunen-no-Kodoku, meaning century alone. Actually, it is the second time Mei-Shun received it as a gift. The first giver was late Dr. T, her “2nd” boss with Dr. K as the 1st at a research institute in Tsukuba. Just a bit more than one tenth years have passed since then.
Shin generously purchased a new microwave for Mei-Shun. They chose together above on internet, replaced older one. It was the eldest and last among their kitchen appliances from marriage, worked for longer than amazing 27 years. And oh, they have been all wrong where to put it and a rice cooker: the former is to be on the upper shelf, while the latter on the lower.
