Since it was birthday of Emperor Showa, Mei-Shun thought December 23rd, on which Emperor Emeritus Akihito was born, would be a holiday from 2020. However, it has become a weekday after 30 years, while February 23rd a holiday as Birthday of current Emperor Naruhito.
Mom-in-law’s お赤飯=o-seki-han, red-bean rice to celebrate today
This is for girls, maybe set to be the counterpart of Children’s Day celebrated mainly for boys on May 5th. Both of them are days of sweets as well, since hina-arare, rice puffs coated with frosty sugar are served on the former while kashiwa-mochi, rice cakes wrapping red bean-paste balls on the latter. For Shin and Mei-Shun, lovely frog faces joined — souvenir from Nagoya.

She has always been grateful to healthy days so far; praising, holding and taking care of Mikan-chan, playing Ms. Piano, dancing kabuki dance while with horsey. And she would from now on of course. Here are pink roses Shin gave Mei-Shun on her birthday. Beauty lasts short — it is very difficult to keep them fresh.
