Kasen-san, daughter of Master Mei-Shu, emailed to Mei-Shun recently. According to it, her mother has stayed at a nursing home from last autumn. So it has finally come. Mei-Shun, the last 名取 of Kikunoe Ryu perhaps, started to instruct Professor M in 京鹿子娘道成寺 from the end of April. 花子, lead role of this tragedy, might work to make all ends meet.

StandardMaster Bando kindly gave Mei-Shun a phone call the other day. Asked how her master was, the latter replied that nothing had been informed. Their communication went blurred sometimes, might reflect minds of those involved in this matter. On the other hand, Professor M, the last student of Master Mei-Shu, requested Mei-Shun to instruct him in Kikunoe-Ryu dance.

StandardMeow, I’d like to stay here today. Dad departed for Germany before noon, keeping contact with mom who gave up going out to ride my tall friends. Thanks and sorry, I feel a bit weird around the tail. If you could watch me all day, I’ll be very happy to stay a good girl. Shall we take a nap together, on your blanket? StandardHere Mei-Shun found 土筆, horsetail girls field. Sooo cute, aren’t they? They made both of her mind and body feel refreshed before visiting 水戸 for a lecture in the afternoon. Summer came into spring a few days before, made cherry blossom there in full 2 weeks earlier than usual. Freezing winter with heavy snow especially in 北陸=hokuriku region would be followed by torrid summer, they say.
Pls Be Healthy
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun a phone call the other day. Actually, she made this August a summer vacation, gave her students no lessons. It seemed the first time for the master to intend to stop dancing for a month in these several years — and to lengthen the intermission for another month. Not only a pain in thigh caused by osteoporosis, rapid weight loss harasses her.
Hello, Good-bye
Standard2017 rainy season has gone, according to weather forecasts. However, an official declaration sounded to Mei-Shun a bit too early, lacking enough rainfall — only around half quantity compared to the average they say, that can be called empty or 空梅雨=kara-tsuyu. With thunderstorm at night for these days, she wonders if it managed to make ends meet. Let’s continue to save our precious water.
Moon in Mind
StandardWe see 朔 of lunar May today. Mei-Shun visited Master Mei-Shu in the morning for a lesson, feeling somehow miraculous to dance 娘道成寺 on the best day to make a wish. 師範 certificate is one of her targets expected to be completed within 2017. Actually, she might be the last dancer who could acquire it supported by current Master Mei-Shu, who seems to become senile fast.
Lesson in Person
StandardMei-Shun feels so happy to see Master Mei-Shu again. It took several months for her to recover from a backache. How painful it is all depends, Mei-Shun has not been able but to worry. Thanks to the DVD, she has learned 30% of クドキ=kudoki, the most important part of 京鹿子娘道成寺. However, image watching means a labor to change right to left for a dancer, never allows her to spare time.
Practice Alone
StandardMaster Mei-Shu has a serious pain in the back. She asked her students one-month off, saw a doctor recently. According to her email, computed tomography did not give any hint of cause, detailed examination would be conducted. Her 道成寺 performance on DVD would replace lessons soon. Mei-Shun feels so sorry for her, while thinks of responsibility she would owe to her own students in the future.
