Jasmine and basil pots following below came from a flower shop whose owner florist is very friendly, generous enough to add something nice for Mei-Shun almost every time she visits there. Yesterday was Mother’s Day, perhaps one of the busiest and the most lucrative for such business. She felt therefore quite satisfied with their simple job in making a bouquet full of carnations including new breed “Moondust”.
Reiwa Riding
StandardHello, Ms. Last One, great to see you again and for the first time after the era changed. Mei-Shun would like you and Ms. Sagittarius to be partners to improve her technique in gallop and trot respectively. And lovely Maria-chan, here is a piece of good news for you; the detergent indispensable to wash your sash was finally got. Please wait until next week to put on cleaner, fluffy one.
Dance Anew
StandardOh, how awful they were, her steps into the stage — Mei-Shun means herself in a DVD recorded around 9 years before. Since Professor M, her only student would like to learn 梅の栄, she earnestly looked for its written score. However, no paper accumulated on Miss. Piano gave her any instruction. She was therefore forced to check her own performance, embarrassed to learn it again.
Last Mademoiselle
Standard25th and 26th sisters almost bloomed at the same time, including another in upside-down position, needed aid a little. And 28th has just arrived. It is amazing that all buds opened safely, making Mei-Shun feel so happy. By the way, some of you kind followers might wonder why she does not call the 27th. It is kept for the unfortunate one who was hurt to fall by this careless owner.
Layered Shoji
StandardYes, she made it. It was shocking 4 years before when these 障子, sliding door made of wooden frame and paper were refreshed by Mei-Shun. Hoping to come back from the hospital in better health, she removed old paper to be replaced with new one. Since fruitful paper for smaller shoji was left a little, she tried an experiment to use 2 different patterns.
Japanese Culture@holiday
StandardYesterday was Children’s Day. Shin and Mei-Shun enjoyed 粽=chimaki, sweetened rice cake stick and 柏餅=kashiwa-mochi, rice cake wrapped by oak leaves, filled with sweetened bean paste. Well, the couple is in weight control, yet mentioned delicacy is indispensable. They therefore walked to the nearest shrine expecting to spend calories, while to make a wish on 朔 of lunar April.
White Ladies
Standard姫空木=hime-utsugi, Deutzia gracilis in our garden is currently in full blossom. Lily bells under Momo-chan or Princess Peach began to give nice scent. Mei-Shun loves white flowers, feeling happy to see them stay lively. And she must not forget to report on Mademoiselle Vert to you kind followers including Prof. S of course. She has bloomed the 23rd and 24th, leaving a few buds still small.
Eighty Eight
StandardWe have 八十八夜, 88th night passed since立春 today. Green tea pick at this time is said to taste the best. Mei-Shun visited a nearby hair saloon in the morning, enjoyed a cup of it (maybe not so new) and rushed to a shop to purchase some, had right to draw a lot. Here she won 1,000-yen tickets, surprised not only herself but also clerks there. Now let her renew the teapot whose lid she broke the other day.
Reiwa Starts
StandardPurr, mom stays with me on her legs for a long time, watching TV from yesterday evening. I’m so satisfied that … purrr … oh? Did you go out while I took a nap on the roof floor? You enjoyed watching wild wisteria putting on a coat and eye-shadow in the same shade. Many of them bloom along a highway toward 東雲の丘 in 十余三, where they found a rare airplane just arrived at Narita Airport.

Heisei Ends
StandardMeow, the era I was born is going. Mom would see it change twice in her life; from Showa to Heisei as the first, to Reiwa this time. She might experience even the third, yet future is not ours to see. Her interest is rather on 銀杏餅=gingko cake, one of the best sweets from Toyama Prefecture, which is due by today. Another 玉天=baked meringue would keep on tasting good over Golden Week, she says. Purr …
