Swans, black-headed gulls and plums. 花鳥風月=kachofugetsu; flower, bird, wind and moon represents Japanese beauty while implicates many others including patterns on kimono, the sun which enables the moon to see, mountains where wind comes down from, etc. These friends of Mei-Shun floating on 乙戸沼 Pond surface reminded her of the flower lane, let her drop in the bakery again.
Dr. A gave Mei-Shun a “Yes” phone call on Sunday. The latter feels really happy, expecting to be relieved for a while from thinking about the disease which raided her three years ago. However, she should treat herself neither to a chocolate nor to an ice cream because of a bag of sugar around her waist — another illness with chronic character might be more serious.
There are plum trees lining a street nearby Mei-Shun’s one of favorite bakery shops. She makes it a rule to visit there as soon as hearing 節分=setsubun, the day to close winter on solar calendar. She felt truly happy to see these pink flowers besides white ones; the latter tend to bloom sooner. How cute you are, shining in pink with a pinch of orange! You resemble a little another kapu-suke Shin won for the second time.
Since it started to rain on Thursday, mom had to cancel all lessons. She instead visited stalls of Vanilla-san and Madoka-chan. I heard the former is a nice guy, yet who is here? Good patience will be rewarded by brown sugar or carrot, which I never want. Mine is meat stew packed in retort pouches. I always sit down at an empty dish calmly, wait for mom to recognize my sight. Then a gentle meow would just work.

Mei-Shun took it mistakenly as 弾丸低気圧, dangan-teikiatsu. 南岸低気圧, nangan– is correct meaning a southern-coast atmospheric depression. It attacked Japanese archipelago on Monday, left our club field all covered with snow. Since quickly made it, she thought it was named after a bullet. No matter which direction you come from, please do not prevent her from riding backs of lovely Madoka-chan and Vanilla-san.
It has nice 駄菓子=dagashi, Japanese traditional tea-time sweets. Not only taste simple and good, they also look so lovely that both adults and children can enjoy. Mei-Shun’s favorite is もも餅, peach rice cake while mom-in-law’s 松茸, matsutake mushroom. Shin knows well the latter, advised his wife to choose it as a souvenir. By the way, his first business trip in 2018 is to this city from today.
Mei-Shun learned it the other day. Her soup never became salty enough even after she added 4 teaspoons of the white, dry grain. She took it as coming from her condition, gave up to make more. When Shin tried hearing his wife’s wondering, he also failed, just told her “it tastes all right”. Now, he opened a corn can, spread a pinch of salt on it and burst into laughter — it was granulated sugar!
Also as the name of bookstore in Kyoto which hosted Kaori-san‘s exhibition, Mei-Shun plays it on Ms. Piano a bit better than before. She recently heard the same score by orchestra downstairs — meaning that mom-in-law learned this fascinating melody. Well, her daughter-in-law must be very careful not to make too much mistouch sounds from now, even if auditory difficulty would protect ears of the gentle lady.
Ms. Scarlet has finally come to us. Under the bright supermoon last night, Shin received her from his brother-in-law on behalf of Mei-Shun: she is not allowed to go out at night right now, even in the garden. She rushed to her this morning, found easy-to-learn numbers put on the plate. Hello darling, kindly let your mom start you for a trial drive. Oh? How to start your engine??
