Our bush clover says that autumn has come. Even if the slamming typhoon left torrid air of summer for a while, we feel much cooler in the morning and at night. Mei-Shun therefore decided to resume daily exercise including perspiration outdoors. She has been getting along with her diet: 15 weeks have passed since she stepped into weight range called plumpy by herself.
Mei-Shun saw Dr. M, her home dentist for teeth cleaning only today. Replacement for Ame-chan would be arranged after 4th, September: its twin sister might be extracted as well. As a way to avoid such a gloomy idea, she dropped in a shop of 和菓子=wagashi, Japanese sweets to pick up following delicacies of autumn. Missing our graceful satellite for a few nights, shall we find her among them?
Mei-Shun felt a slight pain in her upper right jaw the other day. Yes, right this time. She immediately contacted her home dentist to make an appointment with Dr. M today. First, a little hole with dirt seemed to be the reason. However, when the doctor removed it, a crack was found within — such a shame. So 4th of next month would be the date of destiny. To save, or not to save.
Ame-chan, Mei-Shun’s beloved molar extracted the other day, gave TWO BAGS of sugar in a week. No impunity must have been allowed to such a careless owner of that little, milky-white girl meaning both “candy” and “rain” by her name in Japanese. She had a slight fever, no appetite for a few days from the doleful process. And it followed — she burst into eating. Now half of the disastrous bags has gone.
Oh, no, it was all split down the middle. Since X-ray image was taken in parallel direction of the crack, we had no information on it. After administering an anesthetic, Dr. M started to shave the molar head. To Mei-Shun and Dr.’s disappointment, they found above fact — there was no choice but an extraction. Good bye, darling, thank you so much so far. She would give you a nice posthumous name.

Mei-Shun was forced to see Dr. M, her home dentist to take care of a molar on her upper left jaw. It was around 2 weeks ago when she heard a snap there at a meal. Nothing happens while free, yet hurts a little to chew except for boiled eggs, simmered vegetables and rice porridge. With X-ray image showing no trouble, Dr. M shove the molar to let bite go better.
They canceled 花傘巡行=hanagasa-junko, a parade including lively children carrying portable shrines, women in kimonos and hats with handmade flowers, geiko ladies, maiko girls and etc., in Kyoto to avoid dozens of heatstroke patients this year. Meow, mom and I agree with 八坂神社 who organizes Gion Festival, flexible enough to make such a clever decision.

Meow, so they go around Kyoto streets under this wild sunlight today. Mom screams a little every time she sees weather forecasts these days. She makes it a rule to switch on living-room air conditioner at 10 : 00, open the shutter of dad’s study facing the east. Such a torrid summer is hard even for me who prefer natural hotness to artificially cooled room.

Thank you so much, Dr. A, family and friends of Mei-Shun for taking care of her on this matter. Actually, the ex-inpatient has not had any time to think about it until Dr. A gave her a “Yes” phone call: she was forced to study the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, related regulations and current management of this law to prepare for the seminar held on last Friday.
Mei-Shun felt happy when Dr. A told her if she would take a longer “leave” prior to the next appointment. That means she has had no problem so far, yet anything would happen in your life. She therefore asked the doctor to see her in September, or in 4 months as she set today in January. Now is the time to wait a phone call. A full moon tonight could soothe her mind.
