Saint Sweets

Here we are on Chocolate Day — or precisely, St. Valentine’s Day. Mei-Shun gave Shin once-an-year delicacies of course, from one of his/her favorite makers. She also ordered various products including tiny trial bags of orange peels coated with dark chocolate, found them amazingly delicious. And Professor M would kindly visit her tonight for his regular chocolate liqueurs.

Home on Holiday

Standard

It snowed till late at night, changed into rainfall this morning. Mei-Shun enjoyed playing on Ms. Piano “Clair de Lune” by Master Debussy, looking forward to seeing a white 建国記念の日=National Foundation Day. Here we truly are, yet Shin has made a business appointment in Chiba Prefecture. They therefore went out with a small broom to wake Mr. Diamond up, descended from beloved father of the wife.

Snowy Sugar

Meow, it rains from early morning today. Mom canceled her reservation at a horsey riding club, stays home with me, purr. Weather forecasters warn that it would turn snow after dark, continue till dawn tomorrow. Last time of such sight was seen on January 6th when she was one-year younger. And you have already lost more than 2 bags of sugar since then? Congratulations!

Mademoiselle Vert is growing in a flower stem again. On the other hand, Princess Cymby has grass buds only while 2 in bigger pot and 1 in smaller. Well, it might be too much for Mei-Shun to wish both petals in pale green and bright yellow. Anyway, she is really happy to know that all three are kept healthy. May those who gave them to her also be fit.

Dance and Dentist

This combination resumes from today. Mei-Shun got in Ms. Scarlet for Master Bando’s place, in normal clothes. Since a time was available, she steered to the left into an automatic car washer. Wow, what REX means here? 2 dinosaurs drawn on the machine approached, passed by and went away from her with water, shampoo and wind. Thanks a lot, tidy beasts.

Christmas Cherry

Standard

Yes, it blooms indoors. Or Mei-Shun means that one called 啓翁桜=keio-sakura, grown mainly in Yamagata is displayed at a peanuts and soba noodle shop. She accompanied Shin, who needs several more pants getting a bit bigger tyre around his waist, dropped in above restaurant for lunch yesterday. A plum tree full of pink buds also saw them on the way to and from there.

鬼は外、福は内

Standard

We have 立春=risshun, the 1st of spring 二十四節気 today. Yes, it means that winter has gone, spring starts. However, it is colder than yesterday 節分=setsu-bun, one of 9 雑節 which informs season alteration more clearly than above. Mei-Shun would have liked to get a bag of baked soy beans to spread both outdoors and indoors, while only smaller bags of assorted ones were available.

Half Home?

Standard

Meow, mom went out twice this afternoon to: 1) A drug store by car for painkillers. 2) A postal office to renew a passbook. 3) The same shop again for kitchen items and foods. After once coming home to take care of me with a jelly stick, 4) A hair salon on foot. Counters will be closed at 15 : 00? Your reservation was 16 : 30? Well, my understanding means 50%, a little wet mat 50%.

Too, To, Two

Standard

It is too windy for Mei-Shun to go out today, to hang and dry futon outdoors either. Actually, she lost 2 futon pinchers the other day when similar weather locked her up indoors. Heavier mats looked enough to stay, yet one for the wife was blown down onto the ground in a second. Oh, a young apple tree mom-in-law planted last year was safe. So were you of course, Mademoiselle Vert.

旧新年

Standard

Another Happy New Year! Mei-Shun visited Master Bando in kimono, from today to spare time: she would like to stay home with 18-year-old Mikan-chan as long as possible. Changing clothes from normal European/American style to traditional Japanese is also a kind of lesson, she has learned much from above lady and Ms. S. Next stage means to make お太鼓 by her wider 名古屋帯 than usual 半幅帯.
