Where is the wooden 巳=snake Mei-Shun might purchase at a shop located in Ueno Station a long time ago? 2025 is an year for her mother, must feature that reptile on a dining table to join little cats. Among 十二支 symbols; 子, 丑, 卯, 午, 申, 酉, 犬 and 亥 are from the same artist. 寅 is represented by Mikan-chan while 辰, 未 by tiny stuffed animals.
Mei-Shun enjoys 七草粥 celebrating lunar January 7th tonight. It is quite easy to cook thanks to a freeze-dried package of 7 wild vegetables — she just asked her diligent rice cooker to make porridge, added above ingredient in a serving bowl. 月餅= moon cake from Chinatown in Yokohama would accompany her supper alone, while Shin turned to Nagoya leaving this souvenir.
We have 立春=risshun, the 1st of vernal 二十四節気 today. Still freezing outdoors, many children in our country are taught to sing 早春賦. It means an early spring poetry, with lyrics describing a season only by a name. Shin, Mikan-chan and Mei-Shun enjoyed 豆まき=roasted soybean spreading yesterday. Such an event at home would give good meals for birdies.
So we are at the end of solar January today. Since on Friday, Mei-Shun feels like it still continues toward weekend, with 節分=setsu-bun on Sunday. Among 4 of it before each beginning of seasonal 二十四節気 including 立春, 立夏, 立秋 and 立冬, the first one on rare February 2nd is the most known because it almost means lunar new year. Oh, how beautiful a 3rd crescent is, floating massive above dark horsey field!

The latter is all the same as the one he brought home 4 weeks before.

Mei-Shun actually felt a bit sorry for gorgeous roses from Shin as they wither day by day — she has pulled some out of a vase, hung them outdoors to dry. He ordered 2 bottles of it for mom the other day, in a good combination with her birthday cake Galette des Roi. Hmm, he/she looks like that pie whose fève was finally found in the last piece this year.

Today is lunar wedding anniversary of dad and mom, yet his coming back home will be tomorrow. I therefore decided to wait for him to join us, asked Princess Cymby to give 3 flowers open, representing each of our family members. Mr. MATSURI, thanks a lot for dancing with us. Mr. Charade, you resemble lovely Mr. Tea Time. Both of these dark-bay guys have famous fathers.
