Lovely hydrangea, your labor to give refreshing scent of body wash toward Mei-Shun’s yukata is highly appreciated. Awful after effect by that silver fluffy girl was completely eradicated. Thanks to respite of 梅雨前線, our seasonal rain front around here, she can put it on for a lesson tonight. Look, your friends in the Ys’ backyard bloom lively even under sunlight.

How Pleasant
StandardSakura, cherry on Mei-Shun’s obi sash tonight. Cymbidium ladies still kept fresh. Momo-chan, our garden princess looks to be in a hurry to dance (please don’t, honey). In spite of red arrows on today’s weather forecast map, they are all calm in a breeze. Hi, Mikan-chan, are these flowers too warm to take a nap under? Mom would be happy to accompany you on crisps.
Master’s Kimono
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave several ones to her last 名取 in 菊ノ上流. Following is one of them, which Mei-Shun pulled out recently from the closet. Oh, she has not recognized this brighter red line at the bottom of inner cloth. It looks like flowing from outer patterns in the same, yet more chic shade. So which obi sash and 舞扇=fan would be the best? Effective practice seems to come partly from good combination.
Seventh Moon
StandardPurr, I feel so nice. This season has come for me to sleep on a blanket spread above the sofa, under mom’s 半纏=hanten, kimono-shape gown or gentle morning light. She also prepares for winter, bought a warm pants for horseback riding. Meow, stars shine on back pockets, I love it. And your yukata will change into normal kimono from tonight lesson, still a single one though.

Too Soon
StandardIt is a bit, darling. 萩=hagi, bush clover in our garden might make a mistake by cool weather from last Friday. Since summer has come back with mercury over 30 degrees Celsius today, Mei-Shun is worried about you. Please do not try to go into full bloom, just stay on her kimono. Autumn flowers are to be featured on traditional Japanese clothes and sweets according to lunar calendar.
Subtle Irises
StandardThis is one of yukatas or summer kimonos Master Mei-Shu gave her tall student. When Mei-Shun bowed sitting on her legs for a lesson the other day, something popped between thighs. She immediately knew what happened. Since Master is thin and short, her yukata cannot endure bigger pressure. The strongest thread for futon mat is necessary to repair it.
Japanese Culture@wkday
Standard小正月=ko-shogatsu, older new year was mainly celebrated on January 15. Some area did from Jan. 14 to today calling it 女正月=onna-shogatsu, let women visit temples and shrines. They were too busy to pray there during year-end and new-year holidays. Since it meant to allow red foods as well, they must have been happy to eat お汁粉=o-shiruko or 羊羹=yooukan in their best kimono.
Dance to Sleep
StandardWhen Mei-Shun would like to have a comfortable sleep in bed at night, she makes it a rule to call her inner sister Petite Mei-Shun and ask her to dance 娘道成寺. Ms. Petite always does very well, let Grande Mei-Shun go asleep before 引き抜き=hiki-nuki, quick change of costume with two different-color kimono layered. The other day, she tried 汐汲 as an inducer and failed — shocked by such a transient memory.
Joy in the Moonlight
StandardWe have clear 十三夜, a moon on lunar September 13th tonight. 十五夜, another on lunar August 15th, is rare to be like this. Although rounder, she tends to keep shy wrapped in a cloudy dress. By the way, “Twelfth Night” by Shakespeare is translated into Japanese as 十二夜. 尾上菊之助 or Kikunoe Ryu head Sensha has played it on stage in kimono, directed by late Y. Ninagawa.
Acknowledgement
StandardUpper pair of shoes following below walked in Tunisia raining. Such a rare experience is only for them. Quite likened by Mei-Shun, they have worked hard debilitating themselves under sultry/frigid conditions, far away from normal obsolescence. Darlings, it was in 2010 spring that she asked Shin to purchase you on Internet. Seven years with you gave much to her. Farewell and thanks a million, take good rest.
