Mei-Shun’s mother enjoyed making ohagi with her granddaughter for this ohigan (=an equinoctial week). Her loved husband asked his young bride to do it during their honeymoon in 1965. It served therefore the 100th celebration for the couple. Congratulations, dearest daddy and mommy.

StandardMei-Shun visited her mother’s home. She is well as always, that gives her younger daughter a relief and happiness. Her older daughter lives nearby, making grandma twice-a-week babysitter. Mei-Shun hopes her once-in-a-month visit help us check up mom’s health. How she looks, speaks and walks? How much she eats? A rare visitor might be able to recognize a small change.

StandardSome pet cats punches out room items to make their places, yet Mikan-chan has never done it from her kitten-hood. She has a fine dexterity to move between small pieces, keeping their positions at window-side, on the piano, desk, etc. Oh, sorry for that messy nature around Shin’s futon mat.

Sphinx Appears
StandardIn the middle of summer, we often find a fluffy Sphinx relaxing on the floor. Only different from the one in Egypt is that she continues to swing her tail listening to songs of cicadas. When they fly nearby, this creature disappears to rush toward the window.

StandardWe heard Tora-chan’s voice in the morning. Rushed outdoors, we found her looking exhausted and scared. However, Mei-Shun was too slow to feed her who ran away from our garden in a second. Oh, such a cold nature … she might have lost in a territory fight. However, if we protect her to see Dr. O, it would mean to deprive her of the right and freedom she had won so far.

StandardMikan-chan had a better result in a urinary check today. It is so much a pleasure for mom, yet she cannot stop worried about Tora-chan. Maybe she has a fever caused by the injured leg. Crispy foods should be shelved for a while, retort-pouch ones would be preferred. Dr. O prescribed an antibiotic powder to take twice a day. We sincerely hope they work.

Missing You
StandardSix years have flown since Mei-Shun’s father passed away. It seems that time gives two gifts: it turns a grief of losing beloved one into a beautiful memory, while let you try to do better expecting his gentle nod in mind.

Long-Lashed Lady
StandardMikan-chan has a pedigree certification. However, she looks much smaller than stereo-typed Russian Blue breed. Her round face, soft muzzle line and fluffy coat, all different from the ones awarded in cat shows. Well, does it matter? She is the prettiest in the world for us. And that is all.
