They are in the same age of 13, nicely by chance. Madoka-chan gave birth to six babies while Mikan-chan with none. The former is a horsey while the latter a kitty. They will never see each other, living in all different environment. However, they share a lot in nature; sensitive, smart, shy and lovely. And their job is similar for Mei-Shun: they give great spice spread onto her life, with exciting celerity outdoors by the former while heart-warming relaxation indoors by the latter.
thanks
After Party
StandardMom-in-law recently gave up her driver’s license. That means she got off from our chauffeur list. Mei-Shun, who enjoyed good German beer and wine tonight, therefore employed 代行さん= daiko-san meaning substitute drivers for the first time. She does not want anyone other than family members to drive her own car, while mom-in-law’s is now free and looks lonely. Why don’t she utilize him? This idea worked well with kind staffs, reasonable price and safe coming home.
After 1Y +45Wks
StandardDr. A was quick enough this time. She used to give Mei-Shun “Yes” phone calls on weekends, passing several days after 2 weeks of sample examination. Well, anyway, it is highly appreciated by the ex-inpatient. Oh, our last princess finally started to open her green-yellow dress which would turn brighter as she makes a curtsy in full bloom. Such graceful figure reminds Mei-Shun of the eldest one who kindly greeted her in buds 2 years ago, just before her operation.
Gallop, Gallop
StandardThanks a million, Amazones. Your name sounds like a woman fighter, while never you are and called Ama-chan, meaning a sweetheart or beginner in Japanese. Since it is a trial lesson to go up to the next class, an instructor helps each student in a circle course using leading ropes set on horseis’ shoulders. Tutorial DVDs say that it is much speedier than looks, it really was. Mei-Shun recognized how enormous the pressure was when she found her eyes quite congested, hands stiff.
Orchid Arrangement
StandardMei-Shun asked injured princess to move. Since calla lilies in Shin’s birthday gift drooped, she removed them to make a new throne. Could you please have a seat here? Oh, you look happy accompanied by white knights.
They say cymbidium needs to be divided and planted into new pots in a few years. After blooming, leaf buds start to grow in around April, season of cherry blossom. That doesn’t mean now, darling, who opened yesterday.
Fully Equipped?
StandardFor today’s lesson, Mei-Shun put on the amber 帯留=obi-dome, ornament for a string on kimono sash while a 簪=kanzashi, hair accessory beside her chignon. Both of them are gifts from her generous husband who always encourages good practice. It would be perfect with the silk kimono, yet there is a serious obstacle: she has to drive to Master Mei-Shu’s residence. That textile is so smooth that it easily come down on the floor. She cannot stand such a danger and — dirt on it.
Enjoy Ever
StandardMei-Shun has picked up some from countless flowers Shin gave her so far. Many opportunities including her performance on stage, their wedding anniversary at Christmas and her birthday replenish her blissful arms with gorgeous bouquets and arrangements. Middle-sized roses are relatively suitable to dry for preservation, with recent best following below in bright orange. Since they bowed immediately in spite of watering, Mei-Shun hung them in headstand position for a while.
Happy Birthday
StandardIt is a bit embarrassing to say so to yourself, while so happy to have family and friends who say so to you. Mom, thanks for your simple but heartfelt message. Shin, your surprise gift won an enormous success this year as well. Mom-in-law, your お赤飯=o-sekihan, steamed rice with red bean tastes the best. Now, let’s enjoy together Galette des Rois as Mei-Shun’s birthday cake. And oh, another flower featuring sakura from her best friend! Please take her sincere gratefulness.
Kimono Touch
StandardThank you so much, Professor M. He is good at calligraphy designing, sometimes works as a manager of Shimanekoya studio. These chic pieces were sent from Kaori-san last year, enclosed with a letter of 寒中見舞い=kanchu-mimai, a winter greeting. Her husband is from Kyoto, might be the reason why her gift is always accompanied by scent of that ancient capital. At a glance, Mei-Shun decided to make them her name cards.
Thanks, Mothers
StandardHappy birthday, mom-in-law! We have 小寒=shokan, the 5th of winter 二十四節気 today. It means we rush into the coldest season called 寒中=kanchu until 立春=risshun, the beginning of spring. Mei-Shun’s mother gave birth to her younger daughter in 寒中 as well, made her share zodiac sign (Capricorn) and 干支=eto, Chinese zodiac symbol (申=saru, monkey) with her mother-in-law. That means we have to eat birthday cakes twice a month, with new-year feasts and alcohols …
