So Sorry

Oh, Mikan-chan, you still have the stone. She seemed to use her restroom in the morning, yet mom saw nothing left. When she tried for the second time, mom rushed to there to take a sample and — found a reddish drop. Our home veterinarian Dr. O always recommends an operation. We have no choice?

Snow in West

Standard

The weather forecaster says that it has heavily snowed in Kansai and Kyushu areas. Master Mei-Shu flew to Tokushima, Shikoku last Thursday. It has seemed that she might be a 雨女, ame-onna=a woman to whom rainfalls always follow, since heavy rain often troubles her hometown when she visits there. This time, it turned to snow while 雪女, yuki-onnna has all different meaning.

A Heartwarming Story: 2

It is clear today. Mikan-chan’s mom cooked, cleaned, read newspapers and hung futons in the balcony. Fine mornings are her busiest time. After lunch, she opened her computer to fill the household book and … oh? Where is her purse?

After 31 Wks

Standard

Nothing serious as usual. Thank you so much, Dr. A. Autumn steps little by little into the hospital garden. The pond in front of the entrance has been nicely cleaned. Mei-Shun is not sure since when, yet the princess has not been seen these days. Did she truly exist? Or was that beautiful creature a messenger, as Shin says?

Japanese Culture@holiday

Standard

邦楽発表会 has been held one day before today so far. That gave us good convenience, since many of Mei-Shun’s friends interested in Japanese dance live around Tokyo. However, it was delayed toward 15th, Sunday this year. Our public holidays set in November do not apply to Happy Monday System, fixed on 3rd for Culture Day while 23rd for Labor Thanksgiving Day. We wonder why; the former accommodates a number of cultural events throughout Japan. Won’t you wish a national holiday followed?

Southern Hemisphere

Standard

Professor M, one of Mei-Shun’s most respected friends while a co-student of Master Mei-Shu, visited Republic of South Africa. It is his first experience to reach the southernmost country of the African Continent. They say water whirls anticlockwise there — is it true?

Smart Girl

Tora-chan is a little eater. Mom-in-law feed her twice a day, yet two third of it would be left over. That is why another cats come to our garden at night. It causes fights between Tora-chan and such interlopers. A vicious circle it seems, while the worst might be that she prefers treats Mei-Shun give her.

School Restarted

So here is the beginning of September. Hello again, school children. How was your vacation? This summer has recorded the longest serial days of torrid weather, while it has been cloudy and cool since obon holidays. Such a big swing between too-hot and too-cool days would make us worry about the future — is it an effect of global climate change?

Cooler August

In order to perform feminine* Suisen-Tanzen, we put on a long-hemmed kimono, which requires a technique to deal with. Many Japanese dancers therefore have this tool to wrap up the lower half of the body. However, it is too hard to use it in summer — we perspire much in legs even not in exercise. Well, does Mei-Shun have to say thanks to Typhoon Goni?

*Suisen-Tanzen has a masculine version as well.

Dear Peach Lovers as well?

Standard

It looks that Mei-Shun has become more allergic to foods after taking operation. Among three biggest allergen; wheat, egg, and soy, the last one slightly affects her in milk these days. Kiwi gave her a shocking symptom. Sparkling wine also did, yet it might come from quantity, not from any component of it. And recently, after enjoying a melon and a peach, itchy rash appeared on her mouth. Which one caused this?
