Mei-Shun feels satisfied with it today. Master Bando gave her the first lesson last Saturday, while kindly arranged another this morning as well. She informed her tentative student on details regarding 邦楽発表会 of this year, fixed to be held on Nov. 29th. And Professor M came for a lesson at night. His has been once a month since we were hit by that coronavirus, yet might return to normal soon.
Month: September 2020
South to North
StandardShin was so busy last week that he flew to Fukuoka on Tuesday, came back and saw his wife in Tokyo on Wednesday, turn to Hokkaido on Thursday to stay two nights. Then he worked in Sendai on Saturday before coming home at night. It is said 西へ東へ, from west to east to mean going everywhere in our country. Is moving between longitudes more exhausting than latitudes?
Fortunate Fountain
StandardShin and Mei-Shun visited 乙戸沼 Park yesterday morning, after longer than 3 months. This summer was really, really hot, while rainy season extensive. Both of them prevented above couple from walking around the pond, let alone going outdoors in daytime. Such an interval saw several changes — one of them was a pair of bridge rails. Right one was renewed, yet kept old on the left.
New Life
StandardMei-Shun’s 4 grapefruit pots finally moved onto the ground. After a butterfly safely departed from one of them, a mother laid eggs on another. However, it seemed difficult for those 3 babies to survive since their bed was already used, with only poor leaves left. Mei-Shun therefore brought them down to the garden where a kumquat tree is planted. Mom-in-law found her and kindly asked if she could be a help.
Sharpen U Up
StandardMei-Shun loves pencils. They serve her a lot for whom writing by hand is the best way to learn foreign languages. When she makes formal documents, rough drafts would be written on papers before typed. Most public examinations she has taken require them. On the other hand, various design gives her pleasant chances to choose while such simple structure a time to think about nothing.
To Tokyo
StandardYes, for a haircut and dinner. It has become rather rare for Mei-Shun to get on a train since that coronavirus started to bite us. Wearing a face mask, she enjoyed her sight-through-window collection including Ushiku Pond, a noodle factory and Sky Tree. Hair treatment by a professional after 2 months was great, yet the best was rendez-vous at the station with Shin who returned from Fukuoka.
Friendly Tabby
StandardHi, Karin-chan, nice to see you at the front door again. He is one of the cats living in the horsey riding club Mei-Shun goes to, often says hello to her asking for dinner crisps. Many other members feed them as well, yet this boy resembles Tora-chan seems to choose her as a last resort. And Shin has a similar friend nearby his office, who is quite like another named Ye-mon.
Bright Blossom
StandardWe have 白露=hakuro, the 3rd of autumnal 二十四節気 today. It means dewdrops on grass leaves, as a bushclover in our garden has this morning. Mei-Shun loves such a halcyon sight, yet hot southern air soon came into Kanto Area after powerful Typhoon X or Haishen roared north off western coast of Kyushu. Perhaps it is too busy to care about social distancing.
Cat & Dog
StandardOh, Mikan-chan, you are so cute relaxing beside an open window. Such a figure reminds Mei-Shun of the German Shepherd boy her host family in U.K. kept decades before. He always accompanied them for a picnic, yet often got carsick. Coveting fresh air, he put his muzzle into a small, triangle slit to pull Mei-Shun’s backseat belt tightly. His name was … Trump.
CU Again
StandardThe pupa on a grapefruit pot Mei-Shun grows had emerged a few days before to fly away. Summer is really full of new lives — cicadas sing from early in the morning, born one after another. Most of them around here have simple buzzing voice, while some say mean-mean, what-shah-shah and tuk-tuk-ossy. Her favorite is the last one with green body and crystal-clear wings.
