Traffic Wisteria

They are so beautiful in evening sunlight. Mei-Shun must be very careful in driving toward the horseback riding club. Narrow and winding road is included in the simplest route, which accommodates woods dressed up with those purple clusters. Sometimes white ones are seen, yet impossible to watch on the most dangerous way. That is why she asked Shin to drive the other day.

Our Golden Week seems the best time for rice planting. Utilizing these serial holidays, half-and-half farmers and salaried workers let the former do it. It is so refreshing to see watered paddy, partly with green babies in line already. A wild duck couple is so quick to find their best food table and swimming pool. Thanks friends, for flying away which let Shin and Mei-Shun admire your blue feather inside wings.

Spring Delicacy

Standard

White asparaguses arrived from Europe. It is only once an year when Shin and Mei-Shun can enjoy them, a genuine luxury. In order to avoid fiber streaks entering between your teeth, do not spare peeling of them. Boil them in a deep pan until ivory changes into pearl white. Mayonnaise and truffe salt would be a nice dip while melted butter, lemon juice and salt would serve for a superb experience.

Reason for Dance

Standard

みほし会 headed by Master Bando performed yesterday at 浅草公会堂, Tokyo. Everyone made Mei-Shun happy for seeing him/her successful on the stage. And yes, she felt a little envy as well — she could have joined them if only her master was in good health. According to an omikuji lot she drew this morning, it is better not to stick to the past. Her mindset must be changed to turn sorrow to pleasure.

Lovely Seven

They are ready to bloom in mom’s garden. Mei-Shun loves their simple beauty: thin petal in dark blue-purple without any lines. Such splendor might be understood among grown-ups only, not so much preferred by children. It comes from her memory at the kindergarten where she joined “Plum” and “Iris” classes, compared with her elder sister’s “Cherry” and “Rose”.

Princess Maria

Standard

Here is her tiara. Now anyone belongs to our club can enjoy riding Her Highness — Mei-Shun ordered this accessory to be attached to bridles because the one Mei-Shun owns is a bit too flat to fit her idol’s fluffy nose. Numerous photos of her putting it on should have been taken before lessons, yet had to be cancelled today in such a hard rainfall from early in the morning.

Dutch Pottery

Hello Miffy, whose original name is rare to be heard in Japan, welcome onto Mei-Shun’s hands. Shin found her in Netherlands last week, fell in love at a glance. A sleepy shop clerk told him that only Japanese people purchase this rabbit girl, apologizing lack of an official box. No problem at all — who need it when they never think of selling you to others? Please share a job to store coins with our pink piggy.

Flowery Cups

Standard

Welcome from Poland. Shin and Mei-Shun are fascinated with bowls of the same maker, chose following quartet immediately when they were found on a gift catalog offered by a credit card company. In contrast to fragile looks, they endure sultry environment in microwave, oven and dishwashing machine. That is like perfect ladies who are beautiful and strong, isn’t it?

Rare to See

Standard

Mei-Shun’s mother taught her younger daughter the name of this lovely little flower; 叡山菫=eizan-sumire, violet blooms in highlands. Maybe taken from their habitat, survived on the edge of nearby woods. We admire Your Highness, pretty and courageous. And 定家葛=Teika-kazura follows to join her plant roster. It was named after the famous poet in Heian period (794-1185).

Sweet Scent

It really comes from our garden princess Momo-chan (=Ms. Peach). Mei-Shun felt something soothes her mind one morning, took a deep breath at a flower of this gorgeous friend. Oh, how beautiful you are while merciful! Thanks a million to make her mind energized. All the same kindness does Grand Momo-chan have in mom’s garden, surrounded by 4 “Little Women”.
