Roseau Pensant

Standard

Mei-Shun visited her mother’s home today carrying a box of jellied and chocolate-coated apples made by a chocolaterie in Hino, Tokyo. They enclose leaflets with each product, quoting famous words on what human life is. Since mom opened her younger daughter’s 10-day-belated St. Valentine gift after lunch together, the latter found it accompanied by Dr. Pascal for the first time.

Grace Pursuit

Standard

It seems to Mei-Shun that Japanese dance and horseback riding share much. For example, her lower body needs to be very stable while upper including arms and shoulders flexible enough. She might have learned how to do so in gallop lessons with Vanilla-san, feels so happy. Another target is comfortable rein handling in trot with blackish-brown Madoka-chan and snow-white Maria.

Moon in Coffee

Standard

Lunar 2018 starts from today. Mei-Shun visited the nearest shrine for the second New-Year greeting to Gods while prayed them for good health of her family. Since that includes successful diet for herself as well, she felt reservation at a hair salon on this date would promise a fortunate result. Following cute cup and saucer was served there, 5 minutes from her home.

All Whites

Standard

Swans, black-headed gulls and plums. 花鳥風月=kachofugetsu; flower, bird, wind and moon represents Japanese beauty while implicates many others including patterns on kimono, the sun which enables the moon to see, mountains where wind comes down from, etc. These friends of Mei-Shun floating on 乙戸沼 Pond surface reminded her of the flower lane, let her drop in the bakery again.

Pretty Plums

Standard

There are plum trees lining a street nearby Mei-Shun’s one of favorite bakery shops. She makes it a rule to visit there as soon as hearing 節分=setsubun, the day to close winter on solar calendar. She felt truly happy to see these pink flowers besides white ones; the latter tend to bloom sooner. How cute you are, shining in pink with a pinch of orange! You resemble a little another kapu-suke Shin won for the second time.

Dulcet Difficulty

Standard

“Le Cygne” is a simple score. Only a sharp in F keys, three pages. It is, however, quite hard to make this melody go smoothly. Mei-Shun might recognize it from her days at a junior high school when she belonged to a brass band club. They have played “Le Carnaval des Animaux” by the quick prelude. Such scores are worth practicing, just opposite to above basic technique is indispensable.

Spring Soon

Standard

Mei-Shun walked to the nearest shrine after almost a month. Nothing is planted in paddy field on the way to there, while the soil is well mixed and softened in preparation. Snow fell last week still covers shadowy part of shrine garden. A plum tree stands next to Gods’ residence has a lot of buds on the other hand, looks dreaming of the first blow of these little rings into white flowers.

Snowy Willow

Standard

Mei-Shun loves white flowers including roses, tulips and gardenias. And this fall of lovely little petals is on her list of course. That gorgeous gift from Shin accompanied some, going frail as time passing by. Well, well, why don’t you play the role of cherry in another arrangement from one of her best friends? Regarding buddy, your counterpart grown by her mom is waiting for real snowfall to stop outdoors today.

Dentist Anew

Standard

Since Mei-Shun caught a cold after a dental care in November, follow-up treatment could not have been given so far. She therefore meant to see Dr. M today, yet instead a friendly hygienist checked before cleaning her teeth. No problem was found on them, while a piece of advice to masticate equally on both side. Thanks a lot, see you next month — oh? Clearer image of Mt. Tsukuba is here.

Half and Half

Standard

乙戸沼 Park accommodates a lot of waterfowls during winter. Interestingly, southern side of the pond is frozen on surface, no life seen floating. Old cherry trees planted along waterside might have grown too much, shut down sunlight to warm water. Northern side is in contrast, quite vigorous full of wild ducks, swans and black-headed gulls. Mt. Tsukuba gently looks at them, not only from sky-high but from the ground.
