Shin and Mei-Shun visited the nearest shrine yesterday for 初詣=hatsu-mode, new-year greeting to Gods. The former drew an omikuji lot of 吉=kichi, lucky while the latter dai-kichi, the luckiest as following below. It might be the first time for her to see one with both the 1st number and the luckiest there. She feels so happy, takes it as the best words of protection in 2018.
congratulations!
Thank You
StandardSo this is the last post from Mei-Shun in 2017. How was it for you — full of pleasure? That is great! For the writer, half of her goals have been accomplished. She therefore put another eye onto this だるまさん, daruma doll. It is freezing outdoors, while wind stopped today to give us relief in shoulders. She wishes you, kind follower a happy new year from the bottom of her heart.
Happy Sweets
StandardShe made it. Yes, finally. Mei-Shun treated herself to high-calorie ice cream this morning because the scale showed her success last night. And that’s all. She will keep current eating and exercise as long as being a woman — to reach further goal. Oh, another achievement was informed by fax. She passed the exam to be a legal guardian. Year-end Jumbo, a lottery is now expected to celebrate it.
Happy Birthday
StandardMom, Mei-Shun and her elder sister would like to say it again. They gathered at her home today to hold a lunch party celebrating her 2-month-delayed anniversary. She told them that a pack of crape mix is available, yet it was found to be for pancakes. Well, no problem. Two housewives were flexible enough to bake, cook and serve; green vegetable soup, pumpkin salad, potato filling and a mountain of pancakes were on the table.
Another Resurrection
StandardMr. Avocado, we are so happy to see you again. Since you moved onto our garden last year, conditions have been harder. However, you survived growing greener, stood tightly on the ground. Even in winter, you looked all right putting off browned leaves one by one. And it stopped there — nothing seen on your stalk until yesterday, when mom-in-law found your second baby.
Happy Birthday
Standard… to you, mom, now on vacation at her cottage in Kusatsu. It rains hard with respites for a while all day long today unlike normal years. Mei-Shun would like to e-mail her, yet communication between Ibaraki and Gunma Prefectures really depends. Mom has been surprised by messages from her younger daughter delivered at midnight. Their voice on line never sound comfortable …
Resurrection!
StandardHow long has Mei-Shun left him alone? Dripping accident occurred in … February. She went up to the roof floor accompanied by a repairer, gave a glance at dry, brown Mr. Banana pot. And she found it grown up in healthy green this morning. Oh, you have a younger brother. Great to see you again. Kindly let us express the best gratitude while sincere respect for your survival.
Tanabata Celebration
StandardWe are so happy to see you two in the garden. And it was lucky for Mei-Shun who found you standing straight up in green before Shin used the lawn mower. Ah, that might be why she often saw butterfly couples these days. They were messengers sent by you to let us know today’s festival, weren’t they? All right, let’s wish 織姫 and 彦星 would be able to meet tonight crossing a bridge made by magpies over the galaxy.
Junto
StandardThey chose this name for the lovely Amazonian manatee at 熱川バナナワニ園. Meaning in Portuguese “together”, they express thankfulness to him staying with us so far and hereafter. It reminds Mei-Shun of a dog kept by the landlady of the residence Shin and she lived just after marriage. From 4th floor balcony, she often called him Jun-jun who never looked up to find her.
Minazuki
StandardSo this date has come to Shin and Mei-Shun. They miss a little 茅の輪=Chi-no-Wa and paper doll ceremony at Kiji (=Pheasant) Shrine in Gotanda while never stopped enjoying this sweet delicacy in the morning. After that, he went aboard for Hong Kong on business while she visited Master Mei-Shu. She said that her own instructor passed away at 91 yesterday, meaning that 師範 test for her student could be postponed for a while.
